McCain Back on the Road

NEW YORK -- John McCain hits the trail again after sitting in on the testimony of Gen. David Petraeus and Amb. Ryan Crocker yesterday and tending to some Senate business this morning. Will hold a town hall meeting in Westport, Conn later today.

After raising $15 million last month, compared to $40 million raised by Barack Obama and $20 million raised by Hillary Clinton, the McCain campaign continues to wrestle with their ability match the Democrats' fund-raising ability.

McCain is expected to accept public financing for the general election, an issue the Arizona senator brought up back in February. McCain claimed Obama committed to do the same thing but speculated he might be looking at another course for financing his general election campaign.

"Facts are facts," McCain said, contending that he and Obama committed last year to take public funds for their general election campaigns "Now I noticed in a column in USA Today today, he is talking about other outside money…that's Washington double-speak."

McCain said he planned on keeping his promise.

"I think the American people would expect him to hold to that commitment, especially if you want to bring about change," he said, admitting that he would have to reevaluate his commitment to public funds if Obama chose not to accept public financing.

"We both made a commitment to take public financing. There's nothing to talk about. We either keep our word or we don't keep our word," McCain said.

Reliable sources say that on April 15th at exactly 12:00pm Mike Huckabee''s web site and John McCain''s web site will merge into one. This will be the official announcement that John McCain and Mike Huckabee are running on the same Republican ticket as President and Vice President of America.

The Gold star in the center of Mike Huckabee''s countdown timer is the same star John McCain uses. It is said McCain''s name will scroll to the top of the star and Huckabee''s name below the star to form the alliance.

Sources say McCain''s admiration of Huckabee''s Honor and Integrity sold him on the fact to choose Mike as his running mate. In the military, John McCain''s is the military, and Honor and Integrity are the most desireable character traits one can achieve.

In particular John McCain was impressed of Mike Huckabee honor and integrity during the primaries. Back in late December McCain and Huckabee formed an alliance against Romney to force him out of the race. McCain has lauded Huckabee as "a man of integrity, honesty, and decency." And Huckabee has praised McCain as "a true, honest-to-God American hero."

April 15th was choosen to symbolize the new alliance between McCain and Huckabee of taking on the Financial Recession which parallels to the Financial Tax due date in America.

Mike Huckabee is scheduled to be in NY city during this announcement on April 15th to again symbolize the Financial Recession and Wall Street Financial activity.; Reply to this comment

Is this another free ride for John? Personally I was offended by the remarks, not because I''m a person of color, but because I''m a military vet and these brown-shirted neo-con clowns don''t speak for me and the rest of the Vet community. We honor ALL our brothers and sisters in uniform regardless of color and if John McCain doesn''t denounce the comments made by that group than he deserves to be fired in the press. by memekiller April 9, 2008 1:44 PM EDT: I am so glad the media has, unlike in the past in their 24/7 analysis of Kerry''s botched joke or the twisting of Obama''s comments, has stepped forward to insure that a Republican''s comments about staying in Iraq 100 years were not taken out of context. From what I understand, McCain didn''t say he wanted to fight 100 or a 1,000 years, but that once we stabilized Iraq, even if that took 100 or 1,000 years, he didn''t mind staying another eon or so after that, like we will in Japan.

CBS is not guilty of this as far as I''ve seen, which of course is why you need to start thinking about outsourcing your reporting to CNN so you can start getting it wrong out there in DC where the Bush Administration isn''t the only place you succeed downward and fail upwards.; Reply to this comment
