Clinton Picks Up Murtha Endorsement

(CBS)
MILLERSVILLE, PA. -- Hillary Clinton picked up the endorsement of Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., Tuesday, which adds another head to her stash of superdelegates.
The congressman made his announcement to a local newspaper, the Tribune Democrat in Johnstown, Pa.
Murtha, a longtime congressman from Pennsylvania's 12th district is one of the longest serving Democrats in Congress. His endorsement is a boost to Clinton as it comes at a point in the campaign when Obama has been gaining steady ground in picking up superdelegates, while Clinton has had trouble keeping pace.
He serves on the House Appropriations Committee and made headlines in 2006 after announcing his opposition to the Bush administration's military strategy in the war in Iraq.
Murtha's support for the Clinton campaign could be critical in helping her continue a lead over Senator Obama in the Pennsylvania primary, which will be held on April 22.
Meanwhile, Senator Clinton has added an early morning event tomorrow in Detroit.
Her campaign has called on Barack Obama to say publicly that he will support a "re-vote" in that state after it was stripped of its votes by the Democratic National Committee, which both Obama and Clinton agreed on initially.
Obama's campaign has not agreed to do so.
