Clinton-Obama Ticket? Obama Says No Way

From CBS News' Maria Gavrilovic:

COLUMBUS, MISS. -- Barack Obama responded to the Hillary Clinton, who, along with her husband former President Bill Clinton, has floated the idea of a Clinton-Obama ticket - with Obama as the running mate - and accused her of trying to "hoodwink, bamboozle, and okey-doke" voters.

"I've won twice as many states as Senator Clinton. I've won more of the popular vote than Senator Clinton. I have more delegates than Senator Clinton. So I don't know how somebody who's in second place is offering the vice presidency to someone who's in first place," Obama said to voters here.

After suffering losses in Texas, Ohio, and Rhode Island, the Obama campaign promised to aggressively respond to criticisms from Clinton. Today was the first time that Obama responded to suggestions by Clinton and former President Bill Clinton of a Clinton-Obama ticket, which he took seven minutes to do.

"I do not believe Senator Clinton is about change, because in fact, this kind of gamesmanship — talking about me as vice president, but maybe he's not ready for commander in chief—that's exactly the kind of double-speak, double-talk that Washington is very good at."

Obama noted Bill Clinton's comments in 1992, when he explained his criteria for a vice president. According to the Obama campaign, Bill Clinton told CBS's Harry Smith that a vice president must be ready to lead from day one.

"Someone who would be a good president if, God forbid, something happened to me a week after I took office. That's the most important thing," Bill Clinton said in 1992.

Obama said that this criteria dismisses Clinton's argument that he does not have the experience to be president.

"I don't understand if, I'm not ready how is it that you think I should be such a great vice president? Do you understand that?"

Frankly, Hillary would make a better running mate for McCain since they both owe lots of favors to big business, vote the same way on Iraq/Iran and have lots of experience in Washington-double-talk.

Obama has finally made it clear that the hope for a new type of politics (that he awakened) cannot be purchased by an old style politician like Hillary for any price, much less a vice-vice presidency behind Bill.

More experience than Hillary? You must be high! He has NEVER met a foriegn head of state! Not even Mexico or Canada! He has never had any forign relations experience at all. He has never had a meeting for the Afghanistan sub committee he chairs for Nato. He has chaired it since Jan. 2007. He has been "TOO BUSY CAMPAIGNING FOR PRESIDENT!! Again his words and can be found on youtube!! I thought he was worried about Afghanistan. You must not have read my other posts. Obamas original words (really his this time) SEAT THE DELEGATES! So no he isn''t ahead. Ask MI. & Florida if he is ahead! Until he couldn''t win a big state then he CHANGED HIS WORDS. Again can be found on youtube!. Obama even hit the wrong voting button 6 times while in the state senate! Those were his WORDS! Maybe he says he pushed the wrong button 6 times just as cover up on how he voted so he doesn''t have to stand by his votes! His WORDS were that he "wasn''t ready for President, I am not experienced enough"!! All I have said can be found on youtube!!! IN HIS WORDS!!!

Oh yeah, Si Se Puede were WORDS lifted from a Ceasar Chavez rally.
"We are the ones we have been waiting for" WORDS lifted from a Dennis Kucinich campaign rally in 2004. Yep, "WORDS, JUST WORDS" If he is so eloquent why can''t he make up his own words?

Hillary has LESS experience than Obama...
Obama is WINNING - why would he want to be Hillary''s VP when he is in the LEAD for PRESIDENT?

Why do people choose to ignore the fact that Obama is on the EUROPEAN SUB-committee...and the fact that the Committee itself HAS had meetings? More Clinton-talk?

"A united ticket makes too much sense to ignore.
Clinton (via Bill) brings domestic and international experience. He held office when the House and Senate were Republican and he survived most smear campaigns, so he knows how to wheel and deal in Washington.
Obama brings style, energy and the ability to uplift, plus the younger generations. They are also amassing big political war chests that would be better spent fighting the GOP instead of each other. This is an unbeatable combination.
If they do not merge then they will waste a lot of money, energy and words trying to defeat the other. Their destructive words will come back to haunt them as they will be used by the Republicans in their attack ads.
This merger should work, if Hillary is willing to step aside in 2012, so that Obama does not have to wait for 8 years. ''

It might work...if the WINNING candidate takes the President slot - and that is not Clinton...

100ker sounds to me like you might be racist against jewish people by the horrible things you are saying. Besides many 4 star Generals are saying Senator Clinton is ready to answer that 3 am. call! I think to date now it is 30 military brass. They are of all races, they have respect for her & know her personally! Besides Senator Clinton has more Delagates and popular votes if you go by obama''s original words, which were "Seat the Delagates", until he couldn''t win a big state. But then again in the words of obama/ Deval Patrick WORDS JUST WORDS!!! Half his speeches were from other peoples speeches, even lifted from Denzel Wahington in that movie about Malcolm X. You know where he said "hoodwinked, bamboozled & okiedoked" yeah those were JUST WORDS of Denzel & Malcolm X.
