Obama Readies for Wyoming

CHICAGO -- The show continues on for Barack Obama, as he heads to Wyoming today to make a last minute pitch to voters who will be caucusing on Saturday. Obama believes that by winning Wyoming and Mississippi on Tuesday, he will make up the number of delegates that Hillary Clinton picked up earlier this week.

"We feel that there's a strong possibility that we gain substantially more delegates out of Wyoming and Mississippi than Senator Clinton gained," Obama told reporters on Wednesday.

"So we will continue to build our delegate lead, we will continue to campaign in every state, we will not be cherry picking which states we deem important, because our attitude is every state is important."

They campaign is confident about the contests going forward, particularly because of their February fundraising totals. Yesterday they announced that they raised $55 million in February alone, $54 million of which can be used during the primaries. For its part, the Clinton campaign raised $35 million in February and has raised $6 million so far this month.

The Obama campaign has been building strong grassroots operation in Wyoming, opening five offices across the state and conducting caucus training sessions for voters. The campaign has been running television and radio ads in Wyoming and Mississippi for almost a week now.

For Obama to have less experience than her, he''s still educated and wise, and he knows how Washington operates, he''s been on a foreign committee, Africa and Japan are in favor of him over Hillary, so that speaks volumes. I''m positive he''ll have good relations with foreign countries. He has great ideas, and I believe foreign representatives will take him more seriously than they would Hillary Clinton. I love the fact that he''s opposed the unnecessary war with less experience than Hillary, and that he was able to predict future circumstances which we are in today that she didn''t or she wouldn''t have in her right mind voted along with Bush. I trust my husband in the military, to be better taken care of and better used under Obama.; Reply to this comment

by humble212win March 7, 2008 3:40 PM EST: Obama has said that if both candidates were allowed to campaign in Florida and Michigan then their delegates could be counted. This is fair to Clinton and Obama.

Clinton has pushed, until very recently, to have the delegates seated "as is." This weighs in her favor.

But I ask why should Florida and Michigan be allowed to break the rules and get away with it? What about every other state that followed the rules, what do they think now if Florida and Michigan are allowed to seat their delegates. Next election every state will have their primary on January 1st! DNC be damned. No, the correct thing is for the delegates to not be seated, the states can still participate in the general election and learn from their mistake.; Reply to this comment

She is eeking out wins in some states that always go Democratic and for which the Democratic Party is at no real risk of losing but she is getting trounced in states where Democrats will need to compete and win in order to put forth an electoral majority to beat McCain. He may not have much support in some areas. But he reaches out to everyone. He doesn''t say some states are not important because they''re small, some because they''re red, some because they have caucuses, some because even "Jesse Jackson won there."
