Obama to Receive Kennedy Endorsements

CBS News has learned that both Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., and his son Rep. Patrick Kennedy, D-R.I., will endorse Barack Obama at his rally at American University in Washington, D.C. tomorrow. They will be joined by JFK's daughter Caroline Kennedy, who endorsed Obama in an op-ed in today's New York Times, according to sources close to the Kennedys.

The Kennedy endorsements come on the heels of Obama's huge win in South Carolina and provide extra momentum for his campaign as they embark on the run-up to the 22 Democratic contests on Super Tuesday, Feb. 5.

It remains to be seen what role Kennedy will have in Obama's campaign over the next 9 days. In 2004, after endorsing John Kerry, he gave Kerry a boost as he traveled with him in the days leading up to the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary.

Patrick Kennedy had endorsed Sen. Chris Dodd's failed presidential run and had been sitting on the sidelines since Dodd dropped out after this year's Iowa caucuses.

Caroline Kennedy, in her New York Times op-ed titled "A President Like My Father," wrote, "Sometimes it takes a while to recognize that someone has a special ability to get us to believe in ourselves, to tie that belief to our highest ideals and imagine that together we can do great things. In those rare moments, when such a person comes along, we need to put aside our plans and reach for what we know is possible. We have that kind of opportunity with Senator Obama."

"I have never had a president who inspired me the way people tell me that my father inspired them. But for the first time, I believe I have found the man who could be that president — not just for me, but for a new generation of Americans."

A judge revoked the $2 million bond Monday for indicted businessman Antoin "Tony" Rezko, who has raised thousands of dollars for Barack Obama.
U.S. District Judge Amy J. St. Eve said she grew concerned after learning Rezko received $3.5 million from a company in Lebanon; he had claimed that he had no income. St. Eve said she feared Rezko could be a flight risk.
An FBI affidavit said Rezko actually received $3.5 million from a Lebanon-based bank account of General Mediterranean Holdings, a Luxembourg company owned by London-based Iraqi billionaire Adhmi Auchi.
The Obama campaign declined to comment on Rezko''s arrest Monday.

As an honest person with integrity, I would have said, "No thanks Teddy". Remember Chappaquiddick, where he not only killed a girl, but he was drunk and then left the scene, leaving her to drown. Real upstanding kind of guy I want in my corner. NOT!

Think outside the (TV) box. Check out Ron Paul. Talk about honesty & integrity. Plus, he''''s extremely intelligent. He knows how we got here & knows how to get us out quickly & safely. Just check him out, please, for your kids & grand-kids sake. Media Blackout=Federal Reserve Owners. America was never meant to pay interest on their own money. We must get rid of the Federal Reserve & arrest them for grand theft. Every last one of them. They want us to be poor & broken. Don''''t let it happen!

Go ahead and get it out of your system LIBERALS, Social Justice as the burning liberal cause of our time%u2026%u2026%u2026NOT%u2026%u2026..Dems obviously are struggling with their past demons, identity politics and the platitudes that accompany our lecture as to why we should remember JFK Camelot etc, Bobby Kennedys family is endorsing Hillary. This Ted Kennedy wing of the Dem party destroyed the party to the brink of oblivion and allowed Bush to reign and the true Old Guard Liberal rich compound living party elders and with their cause their view of remedying social injustice through social programs has had its day it hold everyone back. There is another 70 percent of the country out there with Kitchen Table issue, a quick read of Chuck Schumer%u2019s Positively America is a winning Dem platform it is inclusive of the party base and that%u2019s what really is out here in voter land as concerns and threats. I am in a swing State and a return to the Liberal Agenda and Social Politics and Racism is not going to bring this State in and any attempt like these to marginalize party swing voters as obligated to the Party cause will not happen, fringe behavior is fringe behavior at least most Republican have gotten that.

Ah! The KKK is the biggest fairy tale ... LOL
Posted by tbweb

You are right technically, but I was using the name as a catch all for the extreme right wing perverts that we both know are out there. The kkk long ago hung up the sheets, and became David Duke, the Pats (Buchanan and Robertson), and those hiding their hatred behind twisted evangelism.

They are no fairy tale, just fairies...

Toni Morrison who famously dubbed Clinton "the first African-American president" endorses Obama.

Bill Clinton: impeached by Black America too.

Shame. Turn the page.

Are you referring to Sen. Hillary Clinton who has a large personal investment in India''s IT industry, who favors outsourcing American IT jobs to India, who supports increasing H-1Bs and L-1 Visas to Indian IT workers who dominates that immigrant industry, so much so that she has been labeled Hillary Clinton (D-Punjab)! You better wake up, protect American jobs? Now there is a real Fairy Tale! Yer killin me! lol

This drag back to the liberal fringe and identity politics is not a party platform that is right for America or the Party, I would suggest that the Kennedys and Kerrys the Massachusetts Liberal Wing of the party, read Chuck Schumers book Positively American about what the Democratic Party lost with their liberal identity myopic focus on the left coast and Camelot.
