Clinton Receives Farm Workers Endorsement

SALINAS, CALIF. -- Hillary Clinton's west coast trip brought her the national United Farm Workers' Union endorsement, representing 27,000 members, most of which are Hispanic. Mrs. Clinton took the stage to large a large applause and chants of "Si se puede, Si se puede!" or "Yes we can! Yes we can!"

Clinton, who doesn't speak Spanish botched her chance at joining the crowd in the chant by saying, "Si se PUEDA is right. That's right, yes we can!." The problem is the correct way of saying the line is "Si se puede" pronounced PWAY-day, not PWAY-dah.

The crowd of around 2,500 cheered as Clinton delivered a watered-down version of her stump speech that focused more on bread and butter issues like health care, labor unions and education.

Clinton drew thunderous applause when a member of the Farmer's Union pleaded with Clinton not to "forget us." Clinton promised she would never forget the workers of California.

Clinton's west coast swing comes just days before the South Carolina primary, where Barack Obama is leading in the polls. But with the strategy now focused on the delegate count, Clinton will spend less time in smaller states like South Carolina and instead campaign heavily in delegate-rich states like California, New York and New Jersey.

And she saids that she is for the poor American citizens, and have their best interest at heart, while her and her loving old man ( spreading the love ) makes a distorting effort to cast doubt upon Barack''s intentions for the poor American citizen. This kind of remains you of Jonestown, Guyana back in the eighties, when father Rev. Jim, handed out cups of poison enmasse. Drink at you peril, and the poor wonder why their wages are going down, instead of up, and the taxes doing the exact opposite if she, by some witch''s black magic, is elected president.; Reply to this comment


by bacaangel January 23, 2008 9:29 AM EST: Political candidates should be fined each and every time they intentionally distort an opponent''s records and held accountable for this kind of unethical behavior and slander. Example, Hillary''s recent statement she made on Meet the Press in which she said: "Sen. Obama''s chief strategist accuses me of playing a role in Benazir Bhutto''s assassination.'''' When in actuality David Axelrod never made such an accusation. He said former Prime Minister Bhutto''s death will ''''call into issue the judgment'''' of ''''taking the eye off the ball and making the wrong judgment in going into Iraq.'''' That statement of her''s is Outrageous and potentially Slanderous! After all, most of us teach our children to play fair -- not to lie, cheat and steal! The leaders we elect to office should be held to a higher standard and should be people of principal, high moral character, honest and forthright.

The Clintons'' tactics are old time party politics and should be a thing of the past as we move towards the 21st Century, towards cleaner air, cleaner water, cleaner politics, towards a more holistic way of living. How can we as a country be blessed and be a beacon of light to others after all that ugly and dirty fighting (lies, distortions and slander) we can''t be. There is a positive way -- honorable way to fight with dignity, honesty and truth and a dirty way to fight that is unethical and slanderous and without dignity.; Reply to this comment


by keriama January 23, 2008 5:23 AM EST: As the (exciting) months drag on, I can see Mitt Romney trouncing both Billary and Obama come Nov. These two will battle it out so negatively all the way down to the wire, that everyone will tire of them.

McCain will be very much weakened long before by then, and lots of negative stuff about the two Dems will surface, as the election gets closer.; Reply to this comment
