Edwards Briefly Looks Ahead to Super Tuesday

(CBS)

(CBS)
From CBS News' Aaron Lewis:

LOS ANGELES -- With towering skyscrapers looming above him - a poignant symbol of the major corporate interests in which he seeks to fight - John Edwards pushed his message of saving and strengthening the middle class from the rooftop of the SEIU Local 721.

"You don't bring about change by shuffling papers," said Edwards in perhaps a veiled swipe at Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. "And you don't bring about change by just giving a speech. We have to actually have some guts, some determination and some fight if we're gonna bring about the change that America so desperately needs."

Today's stop in California marks the first stop for Edwards in a tour across America visiting February 5th Super Tuesday states. He also travels to Oklahoma, Missouri, and Georgia in the next 48 hours. Edwards hopes that this will show voters that he is committed to continue the campaign regardless of the outcome in South Carolina and Nevada.

If Edwards hopes to win California, he has lots of ground to make up. He is a distant 3rd place in Golden State polls.

John Edwards is the only one that will fight poverty and bring health care and education to the poor & middle class of America. John Edwards would be the best President for all of America, anything less will be as bad as keeping Bush in office forever.

America deserves honest men of integrity that will fight for all Americans, and Edwards is a true patriot that can make America great. He has the substinance, determination, and will to fight greed, corruption and end the outsourcing of our jobs.

His economic, education, health and welfare policies are now being copied by all the canidates. Edwards spoke out months and even years before the others.

America needs to think about why the "Washington Greed, Corruption, Large Corporations and Media" are trying to make this a two candidate Democratic race?

Edwards is the only Democrat able to win the Presidency, as polls have showed that any Republican nominated will beat Clinton and/or Obama.

An Edwards presidency will create American jobs for Americans by ending the outsourcing of our jobs lost through NAFTA and CAFTA. It will end the greed and corruption of large corporations and Washington politicians.

End the $700 million per day wasted in Iraq and invest in America, America can prosper in a global economy without outsourcing our jobs

Vote for jobs for the workers of America, healthcare and education for the middle class by endorsing a true patriot of integrity and honesty for America, John Edwards

I was there today, too. Drove in from Orange County, a Republican stronghold. Not only do the Dems like John there, but also the Independents and the Repubs, because even some Republicans realize that their Party is now "of the corporations, by the corporations, and for the corporations." Hillary and Obama, with their $100 million in corporate contributions, are "Republican Lite." Edwards remains the best candidate to restore the middle class, help us develop a new "green" economy, protect individual rights and restore our reputation in the world. He is the most electable candidate and can bring all Americans together. Go, John, looks like a win for you in Nevada!

I was there too. The strongest crowd response was after he promised to restore the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. I appreciate his willingness to stay in the race and force other candidates to address issues they might otherwise ignore. For example, all the candidates deplore the foreclosures affecting so many Americans, but only John Edwards places the blame where it truly belongs, with the banking industry that has successfully weakened Federal consumer protections, and then prevented states and cities from implementing stronger laws. This happened to Los Angeles and oakland in 2003; our local laws could have prevented many of these predatory loans from being made, and burst the real estate bubble before it went out of control. Just one example of why he is correct in saying that the next president has to be willing to fight powerful interests to bring real ''change'' for all of us, not just the rich and powerful.

Hi !!! I was there, I saw this electric speech. It was far more amazing than you would ever believe, San Francisco. It was HIT AFTER HIT for the progressive agenda that has been neglected for so long. Edwards promises to withdraw all troops. He promises to freeze nuclear energy. He promises to invest in SOLAR energy. He promises to bring health care and veterans issues to the forefront of public policy. Our clown of a governor can only be defeated by one man in 2012, after they push through that amendment - and that is President John Edwards. This article is welcome as it at least covers the man''s opposition to Schwarzeneggar in detail. However, Edwards supporters like me are counting on YOU to amplify word of his existence, his positions , his historical significance (it is like Howard Zinn running for President here) and ultimately his superiority to the rest of the political field. You heard it here first - JOHN EDWARDS WILL BE ELECTED PRESIDENT THIS NOVEMBER !!! :)
