Huckabee Sounding A Little Like Ron Paul

From CBS News' Joy Lin:

WINDHAM, N.H. -- Speaking to a packed gymnasium Sunday, Mike Huckabee sounded off on how politicians in Washington, D.C. had spent beyond their public mandate. He then threw in a line about money printing that could have come out of Ron Paul's mouth.

"We sent them there to cut spending, and they didn't do it. They've spent more money than has ever been spent. Guess where that money is coming from. Your pocket," Huckabee said.

"Just remember this, when government says we're giving you things, remember before the government can give you something, the government has to take it from you first. And the handling charge is extraordinary."

"We need to say no to government spending when it's wrecking our grandchildren's futures. Nine trilllion dollars worth of debt on your credit card that somebody transferred to the next several generations. That's irresponsible. And what's their answer? Spend more. Print more, spend more."

Interestingly, Huckabee's words sound like an issues statement on fellow candidate Ron Paul's campaign website. It's not plagiarism, but their points are quite similar: "Today, too many politicians and lobbyists are spending America into ruin. We are nine trillion dollars in debt as a nation. Our mounting government debt endangers the financial future of our children and grandchildren. If we don't cut spending now, higher taxes and economic disaster will be in their future — and yours. In addition, the Federal Reserve, our central bank, fosters runaway debt by increasing the money supply — making each dollar in your pocket worth less."

At the Jan. 5 GOP debate, Ron Paul said "We run up the deficits. We tax. We borrow. We borrow from the Chinese. We can't borrow enough. Then what do we do? We print the money."

Paul has consistently accused the government of feeding inflation by printing more money to pay debt.

Huckabee didn't venture into the subject of inflation today, but rather continued on to revisit his own record as governor. He noted that as governor he had balanced the budget every year, transforming a budget with a $200 million deficit into an $850 million surplus when he left office.

"That's how it's supposed to work. Not to leave debt to your children, but leave things in better shape, not worse," Huckabee said.

pistileer. Make sure you do some research before you go spewing garbage like that on here. I''m willing to wager you''re going to post something saying Silverstein said "pull-it." If you look more into it, "pull-it" is a term that is hardly used. And when it is used it''s used to refer to literally pulling a building down with cables, as they did with remains of building 6 after 9/11, which has been taken out of context as "proof" of Silverstein''s comment. And what Silverstein was referring to was withdrawing the contingent of firefighters left in the building. On a final note, "pull-it" is a term used by demolitionists, last time I checked he is not one.

exdreams. 9/11
You are highly misguided. I was with people who claimed prior knowledge on the day it happened and I refused to believe them. I now know they were not kidding.
Are you aware at all that they pulled building seven? Do you know what "pull" means? That means they had to have prior knowledge for at least two weeks. Stop continuing the abuse of our soldiers by refusing to see the awful truth. It was not Saudi''s.
Peace.

My apologies, I think I read the wrong post title. I was only commenting about the statements from GiantRobot2 until you made your misguided analogy of the only small portion of my statement that got through. this is my first time posting here and I was not aware of the character count limit.
Peace.

To exdreams;
I will mention 9/11 every day until this government stops pretending they are not culpable. For you to attack my mentioning of it like you know everything you need to in making an informed decision, and like I don''t have a right to, is vehement and exclusionary in view.
I am prosaic because I insist on mastering understanding of the human mind in my dedication to humanity, and I know exactly what I am talking about. I enjoy taking the veracity bending complexities out of the things many people love distorting the issues with.
PEACE.

It was an accident of the system telling me it didn''t post. Also, I agree we should not be in Iraq and never should have been. I was answering the statement by y23 that we should not leave Iraq with "our tail between our legs"
Are you just trying to be absurd or do you truly not see my point. I am against any war, and it seems that all people want to do is argue about semantics while skirting the real issues. Also, if you don''t think that aggresive canine behavior is caused by human abuse then I hope you don''t have a dog.
The post I was responding to was the personal posted comment, not Ron Paul. The person who posted is obviously full of hate and fear.

Pistileer. First of all, quit publishing the same post over and over. It''s annoying. Second, your prosaic, while interestingly written, is patently illogical.

J2k3 wrote:

"1. We cannot afford these wars.
2. Based on the Constitution, the government does not have the necessary legal constitutional authority to be waging these wars.

Ron Paul is right. You are wrong."

You state that his post is:

"prime example(s) of a bully mentality. These mentalities are based in fear, and are the words of a true terrorist at heart."

Well, you''re projecting, first. And second, you''re wrong and he is right. We cannot afford these invasions of sovereign nations and bomb their innocent civilian populations. We''re in debt. D-E-B-T spells debt. The dollar is devalued (gold is $879 today, $862 yesterday), and the dow is down another point from 14,000, to 12,800.

Think about this; We invade a country that didn''t attack us, steal their oil, rob the citizens of the United States of their money to go to bogus no bid contracts, and bomb, rape, torture, irradiate, and napalm innocent civilians.

Who''s the bully? who''s the true terrorist at heart? hmm... and please, don''t bring up 9/11. We all know that the supposed "terrorists" were non-muslim Saudi Arabians.

%u2026sorry these are out of order and excessively posted%u2026 am still getting used to this.
We the people are largely to blame at this juncture because it is our complacency and lack of responsibility in governing our nation. We were charged in the very beginning with maintaining and defending the constitution, by demanding that it be adhered to. I have been figuratively "screaming my head off" for many years while my peers have elected not to hear because all they care about is their stupid "bling bling" and perverse desires that the political death machine has preyed upon. EVERYBODY needs to wake up and now! This government is hell bent on merging with our "enemies" in an alliance of control that will end freedom as we know it across the planet. At that point it will not be regained without massive loss of life.
PEACE

A great misconception, first of all, is that we are anything like dogs or animals. We never had a tail and never will. Actually a dog will not attack a running screaming person unless it is taught to. It is a confusion response of visuals in the animal, and the manifestations of abuse that are leveled on them by people who do not socialize them. These people are fond of this behavior, and love turning these wonderfully loving animals into their own personal WEAPONS OF TERROR. That he is so easily misguided in his analogy is indicative of his lack of ability to interpret fear.
Bringing our troops home is the only option and must be done immediately. Our strength as a nation is unmatched and can easily withstand a policy of admitting when we are errant. The war on terror is largely a sham, and the real truth is that 9/11 was staged by our own government. There is a mountain of proof. Conversely, the government entities can come up with absolutely no evidence to refute it...NONE!!...continued below...

This comment is about john2k3''s statements. They are prime examples of a bully mentality. These mentalities are based in fear, and are the words of a true terrorist at heart. This is the kind of person who seeks to TRAIN the terrorist in ideologies of fear, hate, vengeance and control. Know this, all humans are righteous if given the opportunity. The perversions in this world proliferate only by the daily complacency and greed of contemporary society and the doctrines of hate and superiority that allow one to retaliate in anger. ...continued below...
