Giuliani Talks Strategy in N.H.

(CBS)
MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Do you understand why Rudy Giuliani is more focused on later primaries rather than New Hampshire and Iowa?
He'll explain it himself.
"Here it is, it's no more complicated than this," said Giuliani. "There are 28 primaries left. Whoever wins 15 to 20 of them is going to be the candidate. You cannot do it with one primary. So the question is, we believe, you have to be competitive in many states."
Giuliani went on to say he has spent the most amount of time in New Hampshire than any other state aside from Florida and admitted that he turned resources away from Iowa.
"Iowa, we did not invest much in Iowa, you're right. That was a calculation of risk, reward."
"All you have to do is look at the polling, it's no great science to this, where do you have very little chance, where do you have a good chance, and you divide up your resources and try to win those states."
How does he think he'll do in New Hampshire?
"I think we're gonna do well, and we'll be ready to live and fight another day."
Among those states where Giuliani feels he'll have success are Florida on January 29th and California, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Illinois – all states that participate in the February 5th Super Tuesday contest.
In there are any more questions, Giuliani said his men behind the scenes, campaign director Mike DuHaime and chief political adviser Tony Carbonetti, can explain his strategy more clearly.
"You pick the place where you think you can do more, and Mike DuHaime understands much better than I do. He can do it with charts. Tony has it intuitively in his heart. Mike has it on a piece of paper," said Giuliani.
"And by the way, they're doing a great job."
