Thompson Says Iran is Most Dangerous

(CBS)
KNOXVILLE, IOWA -- On the day Pakistan was thrown into turmoil because of the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, Fred Thompson asserted the most dangerous country in the world is still Iran.
"They're the world's largest sponsor of terrorism," he said. "They've been killing our people in one form or another for many years."
While Pakistan is a country that has nuclear weapons in its arsenal, Iran allegedly does not. But Thompson has maintained they are pursuing them, despite a recent National Intelligence Estimate report which said Iran abandoned a nuclear weapons program in 2003.
"They're in the process of enriching uranium to a level that we do not know," Thompson told the crowd of roughly 60 people. "They are enriching uranium in the same process they would as if they were developing a nuclear program. The weaponization of it is the tail end of the process."
