Thompson Off Ballot in Delaware

(CBS)
CBS News has confirmed that Fred Thompson will not be on the Republican ballot in Delaware for that state's primary on February 5th. Thompson campaign officials say they gathered enough signatures to get on the ballot for the primary, but not enough of them were Republican voters.
Delaware requires 500 signatures of registered voters from the candidate's party to be added to the ballot. Officials with the campaign declined to elaborate on why the requisite number of signatures wasn't obtained.
Ultimately, this isn't a huge cause for concern for the Thompson campaign as Delaware has 18 GOP delegates up for grabs, one of the smallest hauls of the two dozen states holding contests on Feb. 5.
