Giuliani Not Concerned With Huckabee Surge

(CBS)
SAN FRANCISCO -- Rudy Giuliani just weighed in on Mike Huckabee's rise in the polls during a campaign stop at Mel's Diner.
"Sure he has [gained in the polls]. I think every poll shows that. Mike has gained quite a bit in the last month and a half," Giuliani said.
"I don't see ANY candidates as a threat to my campaign. My campaign is my campaign. I've got to reach out to Republican voters. Whether it's Mike Huckabee or someone else there will always be competitors."
"And it's my job to convince the Republican Party that I'm the most electable Republican. I'd be able to beat the Democrats. I can put more states in play than any other Republican including the state of California."
Iowa, where Huckabee's surge started, was never really in Giuliani's plan for success anyway -- perhaps the reason for Giuliani's outward lack of concern. He has been pinning his hopes on later primaries such as Florida's Jan. 29th primary and the two dozen or so primaries and caucuses on Feb. 5.
