Dennis Blair To Be Director Of National Intelligence

CBS News' David Martin reports retired Admiral Denny Blair will be the next Director of National Intelligence. Blair was the commander of the U.S. Pacific Command during the Clinton administration. According to a New York Times profile, Blair brings "intimate experience with intelligence during a 34-year Navy career. A brainy retired four-star admiral whose jobs included commander of the United States Pacific Command, he is also an Asia expert who is considered adept at running sprawling organizations, seemingly a prerequisite for heading an office that is still grappling with the task of fusing 16 spy agencies."

Your an idiot and you don''t know what you''re talking about. Go read the comics or something that uses words you understand (intelligence NOT being one of them in any context of the term).

Brilliant, a DNI who has never been an intelligence officer. Let''''s reciprocate and nominate a career CIA officer to be Chief of Naval Operations. Better yet, let''''s cut intelligence 40% overall like in the 1990s and then act surprised that we were surprised by 9-11!

We absolutely DON''T need a career intelligence officer as NDI if they are corrupted and most of the senior officials are. Your choices are: pull from middle management intelligence (no experience managaing large organizations), or pick a career military figure from outside intelligence. Most of the Comabatant Commanders are intimately involved with intelligence and have management experience. This is a MUCH better course of action. ADM Blair is respected by combatant command J2 (intelligence) personnel.

Yeah, right siobama, blame America First! Al Qaeda has no blame, just President Bush. He recruited the hijackers, personally trained them and have them their orders. It must also be George Bush''s fault that ex-president Clinton failed to take out Bin Laden when he had the opportunity. It''s President Bush''s fault that, while he was governor of Texas, US Intelligence was cut 40% in the 8 years before he took office. ROTFLMAO!! You are right on one thing though, I agree that we do have a "real President truly intelligent" [your sentence construction notwithstanding] However, that''s today, as in the present tense you used. But what we WILL have at noon on 20 Jan 09, however, is an untested, inexperienced man with less experience leading large organizations than Sarah Palin. I wish him well because he will be my President. I will support him when he''s right and oppose him when he''s wrong. I doubt you and your ilk can say as much.

9/11 was Bush''s fault. No one else. It was not for being short of anything, except a president with brains and too much religious fundamentalism.
Now, we finally have a real president truly intelligent. So relax.
