RNC: Should "Untested" Obama Be In Charge If Storm Gets Worse?

The Republican National Committee has released a new ad, "Storm," set to "run in major markets in target states."

"We choose Presidents to lead us through uncertain times," an announcer says as stormy seas are shown onscreen. "Rely on their background and experience to guide us. Some now say this storm cannot get worse. Our nation is so off course that Barack Obama's quick rise to power and inexperience should not matter."

He concludes: "But what if the storm does get worse? With someone who's untested at the helm."

The words "Barack Obama. Untested." then appear onscreen.



UPDATE: Obama-Biden spokesman Hari Sevugan responds: "In case the McCain campaign hasn't noticed, the financial storm has already hit, and John McCain responded by erratically steering his ship in about five different directions."

The answer to the headline? YES. How was McCain tested to handle "the storm?" Yes, he did fly in Vietnam. And, he deserves respect for that. However, he was up there taking orders, not charting the course of the war. Tested in the Senate? Well, we see the results of that. The biggest test he has faced is his campaign, and he has failed miserably.

Is Sarah just innovating again? Does want to end the recession we''re heading into with "trickle down" economics, by spending lavishly on herself?

--$4,716.49 on hair and makeup just through September,
--$22,800.00 for makeup Oct. 1-15,
--$5,102.71 at Bloomingdale%u2019s New York,
--$9,447.71 at Macy%u2019s in Minneapolis,
--$49,425.74 at Saks Fifth Avenue in St. Louis and New York
-- $75,062.63 in a whopping spending spree at Neiman Marcus in Minneapolis (hey, doggone - this "hockey mom" is goin'' upscale on us real fast!).

Then there''s the $21,012 for her three daughters'' 64 one-way and 12 round-trip commercial flights since she took office as Gov. in December 2006 (thankfully, that bill was paid by the state of Alaska, admirably proving Palin''s credentials as an equal-opportunity biller!).

Republicans used to belittle former Sen. John Edwards'' $400 haircut, but compared to Palin, that looks like chump change!

Even "Joe" (actually Sam) the Plumber must be turning green with envy - Palin''s fashion budget for just these past few weeks is already more than four times the median salary of an American plumber ($37,514).

If elected, maybe she''ll single-handedly spend us out of this big recession Bush has us heading into! Wouldn''t she make a swell Pres.?

John McCain thinks so! Making her the V.P. candidate was his single most important decision going into this election campaign!

Does that make you confident of his judgment if elected President? Or not so much?

...and just how and when has McSame been tested??? Truth is, nobody has the experience for this job until AFTER they get elected, period! And besides, look what so-called experience has gotten us over the last 8 years.

How is it that Obama can run illegally. He is deffently not a born U.S. citizen.That is the main thing running for President. I believe this race has been illegal from the begining ,vote frauds and all.I have read the federal laws and you deffently have to be born a U.S. citizen to run. Obama was born in Kenya and adopted Indoniesia.Does this country change the contitution and federal laws for this certain canidate. This is illegal as hell.If this is the case a terroist could come over here in run.Thats an example. I think Obama should be suspened and HRC should be legally the nominee.This is all wrong.CNN is covering alot of illegal corruptions that Obama is in.

The short answer: yes, absolutely we should trust Obama. All you have to do is look at how McCain has handled the storm so far. He voted for the war, he voted for deregulation (championed it is more like it), and he bounced all over the place like the ball in a pinball machine when the economy tanked last month. It was sound, no it was a crisis, I''m suspending my campaign, no I''m not, I''m not going to debate, yes I am, etc etc. Meanwhile, Barack Obama was steady as they come, thoughtful, forward-thinking, confident and composed in his approach. For me, this last month has been a test for both of them...a "storm" if you will. Obama has earned my respect and my confidence. McCain has been a bitter disappointment.

What choice do we have? McCain has pissed off everybody. Obama at least gets along with friends and enemies.

I don''t buy the premise that Obama is untested. Even if he were, I would much rather turn over a task that requires creative thinking and fresh insight to the intelligent and rational Obama rather than to an old man who parrots the conservative line all the way which got us into this mess in the first place.
