Palin E-Mail Hacker Indicted

The man charged with hacking the e-mail account of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and posting some of the contents on a public Web site pleaded not guilt today after being indicted for intentionally breaching the account. David Kernell, a 20-year-old student at the University of Tennessee and son of a Democratic Tennessee state lawmaker was released under conditions that restricts his computer usage to school-only activities.

Kernell is set to go on trial on December 16th and faces a maximum of five years in prison or a $250,000 fine, the AP reports. Mike Kernell, a state representative, has said he had nothing to do with the hacking incident. Prosecutors allege that Kernell re-set the password of Palin's personal e-mail account in order to read the contents and later posted it on a public Web site.

The bottom line problem here is that while CBS was very vocal in publicizing details of the leaked emails, the only reference you find to the son of a TN democrat being indicted for this crime is in this blog. If people cannot see the blind bias in this failure to ethically report news, then there is no hope. I''m truly sorry to see the depths to which our media has sunk.

After reading this article (what a disgrace), I go to the comments interested in hearing what others have to say on the matter of what this kid did. Here I find postings about Obama being a terrorist and his connections to every evil person in the world.

What does this have do with the article? I noticed over the past few days on here, regardless of the content of a political article, I find comments posted demonizing Obama. It amazes me how much hatred and racism exists. Seems like people are overflowing with their negativity and hatred and have to post it EVERYWHERE they can.

McCain & Palin really managed with their appalling tactics to rally up their base of racists and haters.

It''s pittiful, biased and ignorant. When I think of McCain/Palin and their followers, I see hatred and anger.

They say you can judge a man by the company he keeps and the people he attracts, and in that, it doesn''t say much for John McCain.

It''s a shame they did not indict Shrub and Darth Cheney for hacking 350,000,000 email accounts.

Somehow, that must be different.

The Secret Service would be very interested in this hacking. The hacker could have passed intelligence on Sarah Palin%u2019s travel plans, patterns of behavior, clues that potential bad actors could use in bringing harm to Sarah Palin.

Joe Biden is screaming about the words of a few probable Barack Obama campaign directed dirty tricks planted crowd operatives in Sarah Palin campaign crowds who shouted inappropriate statements posing a potential threat. Joe Biden was silent on the real threat of this hacker revealing potential personal clues about Sarah Palin%u2019s life that could put her in danger.

Why hasn%u2019t Joe Biden spoken out on this hacking issue and state for the record that he nor any of his staff has not read her stolen emails?

This alleged email hacking incident looks like a Watergate burglary and potential coverup on the part of the Barack Obama campaign. The potential intelligence value of Governor Sarah Palin%u2019s private emails for the Democratic campaign leadership was immeasurable. It is hard to believe that this information was not knowingly passed on and received by higher Democratic officials working obstensibly on behalf of the Barack Obama campaign. Just as in Watergate, initially it was thought to be only a third rate burglary unconnected to the President and higher officials.
I wish Woodward and Berstein with the Washington Post could investigate this alleged Tennesse email hacking case involving Governor Sarah Palin and any potential ties to higher Democratic leaders. Just as Watergate involved Cubans who were initially thought to be just third rate burglars this story could go much further. There has to be a Watergate like anonymous informant out there with more information about who might have intentionally and knowingly received these confidential emails and violated federal wiretapping statutes. I want to hear an unequivocal denial from the Barack Obama campaign that they did not receive any intelligence from this hacking and that the national campaign headquarters promptly reported to the FBI their lack of involvement immediately after they were informed that the alleged hacking took place.

what about McCain serving and working alongside people with virulent bigoted pasts like Sens. Jesse Helms, Strom Thurmond and Robert Byrd?Do we have evidence that these individuals committed specific acts against African-Americans during Jim Crow? No. But we do know that their hateful words, and willingness to uphold laws that were absolutely anti-American, did not represent the best of this nation. Thurmond ran for president as a Dixiecrat in 1948 with a platform of maintaining segregation. Based on Helms'' policies, he didn''t see blacks as full Americans. So, did McCain work with them? Did he not speak with them? Should McCain have declared that he would not work alongside these men because of their past? Should the self-described maverick who believes in integrity and character have taken the honorable stance of resigning from the Senate to protest these hateful characters serving in the U.S. Senate? No. And this is why this association argument is so weak and impotent. For goodness'' sakes, Byrd was once a member of the Ku Klux Klan, a domestic terrorist organization!
