Obama Goes After Gun Owners In New Ad

Ben Smith points us to a new spot from the Obama campaign, "Life," that was not sent out to the press. It features a lifetime National Rifle Association member who supports the Democratic nominee. The spot has been seen in Ohio, Pennsylvania and North Carolina.

"I'm a life member of the NRA," Greg West says in the spot. "I hunt, I fish, I love the outdoors. I love this country, and I support Barack Obama."

An announcer then seeks to reassure skeptics.

"Barack Obama supports gun rights," he says. "Our right to defend ourselves. The second amendment. That's the truth."

The NRA has been highly critical of Obama in its advertising and rhetoric, suggesting he would be ""the most anti-gun president in American history." The Democratic nominee has repeatedly said that would not be the case, stating that any claim that he would take away peoples' guns is "just not true."

"Barack Obama is running TV ads about guns without telling the national media because he knows they would never pass a credible fact check," RNC spokesman Alex Conant said in a statement. "Obama is the most anti-gun candidate for President in American history. He consistently worked to undermine Second Amendment rights, which is why respected pro-gun groups are harshly critical of him."

UPDATE: The NRA today announced that it is expanding its multi-million dollar anti-Obama ad campaign. National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund ads began airing today Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Ohio, Minnesota and Michigan. They were already airing in Pennsylvania, New Mexico, and Colorado.

"The media spots feature a variety of people from all walks of life, including war veterans, hunters, families and former law enforcement officers criticizing the many anti-gun and anti-hunter votes cast by Obama as a state and as a U.S. Senator," the organization said in a press release.

Watch one spot below.

I wouldn''t trust BHO''s website to learn the truth about Obama''s stand on the issue. That website lists only what Obama wants you to believe, but his voting record tells a different story.

I wouldn''t even necessarily trust FactCheck either: http://clintondems.com/2008/08/obamas-connections-to-factcheckorg-exposed-by-texas-darlin/

SCOTUS supporting the Second Amendment in the Heller case in no way renders the NRA moot. Did Washington D.C. willingly comply with that ruling? No, Congress had to intervene and force them to comply. They are still trying to find ways around the ruling even now. Until people stop trying to infringe upon 2A rights, the NRA will be needed to defend the 2A.

Being an Illinois resident, I KNOW Obama is a slick, political carrerist. He will LIE and CHANGE his position as many times as it takes to get his sorry butt in office. He is a LEGENDARY gun banner and anyone who says otherwise should have their finances looked at very closely, or see if Resko got them a 2 million dollar house for 100,000. Obama is for CUTTING the military force, in a time when the world could not be more dangerous for us since Pearl Harbor.
No, people want to blame the current administration for the economic problems this country has, when in fact JUST A LITTLE connecting the dots shows clearly that the financial institutions were pressed by the CLINTON administration to lend to people who were not credit worthy. Remember a time no too long ago when it was termed "the substandard mortgage crisis"? Just how much evidence does a thinking human being need? Or am I addressing the wrong crowd here? Is it enough that someone can read a script from a teleprompter and suddenly he is capable to serve as the chief executive? For the love of GOD wake up America. Our country is in peril, and the last thing we need is a terrorist-apologist in the white house.

"You can''t stop a bad guy with a middle finger and a bag of quarters!"
"I got a message for ya but because this is a family TV show...You have to figure it out. Its in there. Its camouflaged, can you see it? Pick one!"
Pry it from my hand!

Well this just goes to show this lying sack of waste will say anything to get elected. Vote nObama 2008! I don''t like McCain either, but clearly Obama is the worst of the two choices. He is a fringe communist candidate that spews nothing but lies. He is anti-second amendment. He is even anti-first amendment and has been trying to ban political ads against him. He does like the government to spy on us though that is why he voted for the USA Patriot Act.

Wow! Not too many NRA members checking out CBS ... I wonder why?

There''s two kinds of folks who ain''t NRA members ... those who lie about gun-control, and how they don''t want to take anyone''s guns away ... and those who believe them.

The Supreme Court D.C. vs. Heller decision was 5-4. One vote away from millions of Americans losing their right to own guns. As it is, the decision hasn''t really done anything to give BACK those rights to the folks who have already lost them.

For 10yr from 1994 - 2004, any law-abiding U.S. citizen couldn''t purchase a pistol-magazine which held more than 10rd ... signed into law by Bill Clinton ... allowed to terminate, under Bush.

On the campaign trail, Obama has ridiculed rural America''s devotion to "religion and guns".

After the NRA gave control over the Senate, Congress, and the White House back to the Republicans, there''s almost no Democrat with an IQ over 65 willing to admit he wants to FURTHER regulate firearms.

And now the field has changed ... they don''t have to. All they have to do is appoint a couple Supreme Court justices.

The NRA supports Democrats as well as Republicans ... anyone, who''s a friend of the 2nd Amendment. If they''re saying Obama is the worst enemy of the 2nd Amendment, ever ... he''s certainly no friend.

These are facts.

Anyone who chooses to believe otherwise, deserves to lose their Constitutional rights. Unfortunately, at the cost of everyone else''s.

Now we''ll see if CBS at least supports the 1st Amendment.
