The Obama campaign has released a new ad, "Parachute," that ties John McCain to so-called "golden parachutes" for business executives. The ad spotlights McCain advisor Carly Fiorina, a former Hewlett-Packard CEO "who left with $42 million."

The 30-second spot will air will air "across the country on national cable beginning today," the campaign says.

"Last week another bank went under," an announcer says as the spot opens. "But its CEO could walk away with $19 million. John McCain's advisor, Carly Fiorina: The fired CEO who left with $42 million. Barack Obama says it's got to change, demanded any Wall St. bailout restricts CEO pay."

Obama is then shown speaking.

"You've got corporate executives who are giving themselves million dollar golden parachutes and leaving workers high and dry," he says. "That's wrong. It's an outrage."

Harvard Hollenberg''s Alternate Plan To The "Wall Street Bailout"
By Harvard Hollenberg

Let us take as a given that Congress can authorize a $700 billion appropriation. Here is the plan:

A. Existing financial institutions are on their own. If they survive, they survive; if they fail, serves them right.

B. Divide the USA into ten regions. Use the $700 billion to capitalize ten new banks -- up to $70 billion each -- but probably less.

C. Appoint Directors and Managers who are financial experts, carefully vetted to assure no previous connection with foreign or domestic institutions involved in any finagling. US citizens only!

D. The federal government would own 60% of each bank, private investors who put up funds would own 40% of each bank.

E. Failing all else, folks and businesses seeking credit would apply to the new banks. Transactions would be based upon collateral and insured by a new, parallel organization to the FDIC.

As for mortgage foreclosures, I would let people stay in their own homes -- principal places of residence only -- and pay one-quarter of their gross earnings into escrow accounts. Later, the new Administration can sort, out whether to define that as rent and how to determine ownership. Right now, we don''t need millions of houses abandoned to ruin and hundreds of thousands of families made homeless.

I am writing this message to inform people of the injustice being perpretrated by Fox News against Barack Obama. For the past two weeks there has been nothing but negative reporting against senator Obama by the Fox News network, which is unfair to listeners and the candidate. This networks seemingly biased opinions are not of interest to us viewers. My concern is that negative reporting like this will influence voters that are undecided of which candidate best express their wishes. I depend on these news stations for fair, accurate and just reporting regardless of the outcome whether it be a debate or any other current event and if that cant be accomplished I feel that it is grounds for that station (Fox News network) to be boycotted until they learn and understand that those types of injustices will not be tolerated. If anyone else can relate to the unfair reporting of Fox News I suggest that you join us in a boycott of this news station. PASS THIS MESSAGE ALONG.

So they talk about giving CEOs a maximum of $400 or $500K if the government has to intervene. If the government has to take over your business because you can''t run it properly, you should receive the minimum salary of any government worker. You should get a part-time postal worker salary.

Am I crazy? How can you fail and still draw a salary from taxpayers?

Ron Paul would not accept this: http://***********/66o79q

McCain turns out to be the risky choice %u2013 and Obama the more safe choice %u2013 who would have thought that?

McCain is a drama queen and a gambler. He is not the steady and measured hand we need at this time of economic and financial distress. Obama is clearly very sharp and capable %u2013 cool, calm and collected. McCain has had his time. Now it%u2019s time for retirement. We need someone with a clear vision for America, not someone dwelling in the past. Americans would rather see the world waving American flags, in stead of burning them!
