NRA Targets Obama, Biden In Ads

The political arm of the National Rifle Association is going on the offensive against the Democratic presidential ticket today, CBS News chief political consultant Marc Ambinder reports.

Below you'll find a spot airing in Pennsylvania; the NRA also plans to run ads in Colorado, New Mexico and other states.

"I gotta tell you, with the high cost of gas and just about everything else, we're all feeling pinched," a Virginia hunter named Karl Rusch says as the spot opens. "And now I learn that Barack Obama supports a huge new tax on my guns and ammo. And he voted to ban virtually all deer hunting ammunition. Where is this guy from? He's probably never been hunting a day in his life."

"But it's not just new taxes that Barack Obama wants," continues Rusch. "If you can believe it, he also supports a ban on the shotguns and rifles that most of us use for hunting. No politician is going to take away my guns and ammo."

He concludes: "You don't have to be bitter to know that Barack Obama isn't the kind of change we need." An announcer then says, "On November 4th, defend freedom, defeat Obama."

The Obama campaign has not yet responded to a request for comment.

Anyone can call themselves fact check or what ever it doesn't mean they get it right.
I clicked on a map of USA that was suppose to have gun laws of the states I believe posted by CBS and Michigan was listed as having licensing. Well we do have registration on pistols. Long guns (rifles) are NICC's check but beyond that there is no "registration"
You want an interesting "fact check" look at Michigan State police site for crimes committed by CPL holders.
The good guys.

Blaa blaa Drunk driving kills how many? Yet when it happens in my town it dosen't make national news.
And when someone gets caught drunk driving ...they take away his licencse, they don't have a waiting period or ban cars or beer!
The politicians know gun control is not the answer and the majority of Americans are against it.
Back door treaties and trying to pull the wool won't cut it.
The banners can't hide.

The NRA ad representing hunters'' ''rights'' is fine, but keep in mind the original purpose of the 2nd Amendment. Without unrestricted gun ownership we would all still be British subjects. In fact, the colonists had better weapons, in many cases, than the redcoats. Specifically I''m referring to the Kentucky long rifle.

"...the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Which part of ''shall not be infringed'' do we not understand?

When the people fear their government you have TYRANNY. When the government fears it''s people you have FREEDOM.

As a former law enforcement officer, I''ve never feared citizens with guns, just criminals with them. Outlawing guns leaves only outlaws with guns... and leaves the rest of us defenseless.

Criminals are opportunists, low risk & high reward makes a good target. If you possibly have a gun, the risk just went up for the criminal. Look at the cities with the highest violent crime rates.

It does not really matter what the anti 2nd amend people say anyway so don''t get too upset. The party of tolerance and diversity does not have the backing or the guts to do anything. Why do you think they let the Brady Bill expire without a fight? The majority of people are not on thier side and they know it. There are about 80-100 millon people with guns in this country. Try to jail nearly a third of the country. All they can do is stand around and whine that guns scare them and make them feel icky inside and hope some one can protect them because they don''t have the guts to protect themselves. Do you really think the Police and the Military are going to enforce this socialism dream? The vast majority are very pro 2nd amend and hold very little respect for a bunch of school yard sissies or some temp-worker that might be in Congress or the White House. The best they can do is hurl insults at the NRA (as well as thier man-thongs)and cry "it''s for the children".

As to the factcheck attack on the NRA ads, you need to check further that "factcheck". They swallowed Obams''s round about spin job saying he "supports" the 2nd Amendment, but his record and deeds should that he is a lying POS. He calls for "common sense" guns control. What a cute catch phrase that is! Factcheck should check its facts instead of just talking the latest talking points from Obama''s storm troopersand printing them as "fact"
I kinda hope Obama wins. then we can start using the 2nd amendment for what it was really meant for. Resistance to tyrants!!
