McCain Hits Obama On National Security Day

(DENVER) John McCain's campaign continues its counter-programming efforts with a new ad out the morning attacking Barack Obama on national security, specifically on Iran. Yesterday, on the morning of Hillary Clinton's speech to the convention, the McCain campaign rolled out an ad using Clinton's own ad and words against the presumptive Democratic nominee. The theme of today's program here in Denver is foreign policy and national security.

"Iran. Radical Islamic government, known sponsors of terrorism," the latest ad begins. "Developing nuclear capabilities to 'generate power' but threatening to eliminate Israel. Obama says Iran is a 'tiny' country, 'doesn't pose a serious threat.' Terrorism, destroying Israel, those aren't 'serious threats?' Obama – dangerously unprepared to be president." Watch it:



Update: An AP analysis calls the ad "misleading" and Obama spokesman Hari Sevugan reponds: "John McCain is distorting Barack Obama's words to cover up for the fact that it's the failed Bush-McCain approach to foreign policy and the Bush-McCain war in Iraq that that have strengthened Iran and endangered Israel. While Barack Obama recognizes that Iran has been the biggest beneficiary of the war in Iraq and that the Bush-McCain fear of tough diplomacy has allowed Iran to spin 3800 centrifuges, threaten Israel, and fund terrorism, John McCain promises more of the same. If John McCain was serious about dealing with the threat from Iran, he would join Barack Obama's bipartisan effort in the Senate to step up sanctions on Iran instead of adopting the same tired, old Bush-Rove playbook."

It is refreshing to hear someone who clearly understands the variables at play in this election. McShame or McCain or whatever name you choose to use has no ability to communicate on a world stage and will trigger more ill will toward our nation and alienate us against the rest of the world. It is not a comforting thought that we as citizens must carry rocks and slingshot to defend our country.

McCain has not communicated ONE single idea on how he world make our nation or the world better, I hope Americans are united in efforts to make our nation and the world a better place for ALL.

ANYONE who refuses to vote for Obama because of race is a racist!

By the ways, Vaughn, several journalists at other networks, who are actually doing their jobs and fact checked this ad, have come to the conclusion that it is dishonest.

More than 56% of republicans are voting for Obama. But the press seems to ignore these figure, instead they emphasized on 5.7% of democrats who are contemplating voting for McCain.

Thanks for NOT putting Obama''s quotes in context, Vaughn.

This is what Obama said:

"Strong countries and strong Presidents talk to their adversaries. That''s what Kennedy did with Khrushchev. That''s what Reagan did with Gorbachev. That''s what Nixon did with Mao. I mean, think about it: Iran, Cuba, Venezuela -- these countries are tiny compared to the Soviet Union. They don''t pose a serious threat to us the way the Soviet Union posed a threat to us. And yet we were willing to talk to the Soviet Union at the time when they were saying, ''We''re going to wipe you off the planet.'' And ultimately, that direct engagement led to a series of measures that helped prevent nuclear war and over time allowed the kind of opening that brought down the Berlin Wall."

And as far as the threat to Israel, Obama has said,
"There is no greater threat to Israel -- or to the peace and stability of the region -- than Iran."

The McCain camp is being dishonest again, and the press is again giving him a pass. Rather than ''balance'' this out with this useless ''update'', with it''s he-said-she-said BS, how ''bout just quoting the original text that McCain is quoting from.

We are fact finding that it was Vice President Richard Cheney who had been communicating with Georgia President Mikheil Saakashvili and even made a personal visit with Saakashvili in Georgia shortly before the Military Outbreak ensued between Rebels in Ossetian and Russian Troops.

The American Whitehouse, Republican John McCain, and Vice President Richard Cheney are clearly knee deep involved with what has transpired in the former Soviet Georgia. The Republicans desire to sustain perpetual war and their private war contractor economy by inciting conflict.

A vote for John McCain is a vote to have the United States involved in endless war.

McCain is still trying to make you believe his "I was a poor...POW and I am a Hero! just ask me I''ll tell ya!" he says. So when is Carl the GOP Rover going to prison?
The GOP is desperate now, with out McSame who will attempt to Pardon all the Felons in office?

We have SAT tests for kids to enter college. Why not demand one of our Presidential contenders. Lets get Obama and McCain to take one on economics and international current affairs and see who get the toip score.
