Biden Heads To Georgia
With speculation rising that he's on Barack Obama's shortlist for a running mate, Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., went to Georgia this weekend to meet with President Mikheil Saakashvili and other leaders there.
"I am going to Georgia this weekend to get the facts first-hand and to show my support for Georgia's people and its democratically-elected government," said Biden in a statement. "I look forward to reporting to my colleagues in the Senate and on the Foreign Relations Committee, as well as the Administration, about what I learn."
With the conflict between Georgia and Russia this week, it's thought that Biden's stock could be rising as vice presidential pick due to his foreign policy credentials, and this trip could certainly emphasize that.
Biden is the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and his office said the visit was made at the request of Georgia's president. He is expected to be back on Monday.

- although McCain did appear more comfortable than than usual, when asked about evil "defeat it" when does life start "at conception" his absolute closed mindedness about believes other than his, is frightening. Although he did well in the forum the choice for my vote was solidified last night. Obamas thoughtful level headed response to most questions his ability to stay centered and steady in a room full of people who were mainly McCain supporters was amazing to me, I trust what Obama says. I do not trust the war mongering bush mindset of McCain
