McCain's Oil Rig Address Sunk By Weather

John McCain has been overshadowed this week by rival Barack Obama, who has been dominating the headlines during his tour of the Middle East. Obama will next visit Europe, where things don't look better for the presumptive GOP nominee: Obama's speech in Berlin tomorrow is expected to attract extensive media coverage – and up to a million people.

But McCain's camp had a plan to take at least some of the spotlight, as Politico's Jonathan Martin reports: An address on an oil rig in the Gulf Coast to make the case for expanded offshore drilling.

Unfortunately for McCain, the weather wouldn't cooperate: The campaign emailed reporters this afternoon to say, "The meeting with Governor Jindal has been postponed and we are canceling the trip to the rig due to weather." (McCain was to have met with Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindel, one of the people believed to be on the short list to be his running mate, in New Orleans.) McCain will now head to Ohio instead, where he will appear with Lance Armstrong.

The expected high tomorrow in Berlin, meanwhile, is 81 degrees with a mix of sun and clouds. Nice weather for a big outdoor speech.

A tough break for the McCain campaign. But then it's been that kind of week.

There are over 150 Oil extraction permits approved for operation on US soil currently not in operation by the Multinational Oil Companies. WHY?

My opinion would be that the Multinational Oil Companies would want to maintain the high price per each barrel.

Production of US Oil would drop the world price per barrel.%u2026.SO DRILL AND PUMP TH E OIL THEN!! But, the Conservative Republican Party desires unrestricted and unfettered rights for Multinational Oil Corporations to hold on to and manipulate the world price of Oil per barrel.

McCain is crying he isn''t getting enough media attention, while Obama is actually out making news.
Why didn''t Mr. McGoo take advantage of it and show a little courage and head into the hurricane and make some news of his own.

Piyush Jindal- he changed his name to Bobby because of Bobby in the Brady Bunch.
Anyway Jindal''s parents were here on visas when "Bobby" was born, so he''s a citizen, his folks though have India citizenship.
Can you all just imagine the ''3 A/M call'' to the WH. Piyush will answer the phone and sound like a customer service tech from Dell, USBank or AT&T.
