Ohio Gov. Backs Obama

Ohio Governor Ted Strickland, a longtime, key supporter of Hillary Clinton, today announced that he is endorsing Barack Obama. Strickland is seen as a possible running mate for Obama despite his strong initial support of Obama's rival, though he has said he is not interested in becoming vice president.

In announcing his "wholehearted and enthusiastic support" for Obama, Strickland said in a statement that "Ohioans desperately want real, meaningful change. And I believe Barack Obama will bring that change."

He also said he had spoken to Clinton earlier today, thanking her "for her friendship and the strong effort she put forth in this historic campaign."

by gocubs58 June 6, 2008 11:25 AM EDT: TruUSA - Seems like you are on here for every article, shouting in your ALL CAPS. This time, you are claiming to represent the 18 million Hillary supporters.

There was an interview of 7 such supports on CBS news the other night. Of the 7 women interviewed only one was going to stay home. 4 were definately supporting Obama and the rest were going to wait to see what he has to offer, keeping an open mind. It''s nice to see that some Hillary supporters have the country''s best interests at heart, unlike you.
I believe that better than two thirds of Hillary supporters are true democrats and will support Obama in the fall.

Also, while 18 million votes are pretty impressive for a primary race, they are no where near "half" of the democratic party. In 2004, John Kerry received over 59 MILLION votes.

It''s time to get over it and come together - to support the man that will get us out of Iraq.
