Clinton Campaign Releases New "3 AM" Ad

It's 3 am again.

The Clinton campaign today released what chief strategist Mark Penn just characterized during a conference call with reporters as "the second in what's known as the 3 am advertisements."

(The first is here.)

"It's 3 am, and your children are safe and asleep," an announcer says in the spot, which is set to run in Pennsylvania. "But there's a phone ringing in the White House and this time the crisis is economic. Home foreclosures mounting, markets teetering. John McCain just said the government shouldn't take any real action on the housing crisis, he'd let the phone keep ringing. Hillary Clinton has a plan to protect our homes, create jobs. It's 3 am, time for a president who's ready."

Watch it:

The first so-called "3 am ad" released by the Clinton camp focused on the risks of "a dangerous world," stressing the importance of having a president who is "tested and ready to lead." The focus on the economy in this new ad echoes Clinton's recent campaign-trail focus on economic issues.

The new ad also marks the first time a Democratic ad in this campaign cycle has mentioned John McCain, according to Clinton communications director Howard Wolfson. Wolfson called the differences between Clinton and McCain on the economy "profound and substantial," while Penn said the new ad highlights the fact that while Clinton "has a plan to end the crisis," McCain does not.

On the conference call, Penn also stressed polls released today that show Clinton faring better than Obama in matchups with McCain in Florida and Ohio. (In the Sunshine State, Clinton leads McCain by two points, while Obama trails by nine; in Ohio, Clinton leads by nine while Obama leads by only one.)

There is a "dramatic difference in the electability of Sen. Clinton in states that have been critical," Penn said.

"The polls continue to build the case that she is the most electable Democrat against John McCain," he added.

As John JcCain''s campaign spokesperson stated: If Hillary is getting a call at 3:00 a.m. it''s probably to alert her that she lost another superdelegate.

And it is a darned shame that the Dumbocrats failed to find the right person and are trying to dump "Bark and no Bite" Obama or Hillary "Robber" Clinton on America.

reminds me of an old movie where the idiot says "if something works for me I stick with it". Hillary has no credabilty due to the lies she has perpetrated lately and the fact that she isn''t paying her own bills tells me I surely don''t want her involved in financial matters.
It''s time for her to drop out but because she feels "entitled" she can''t let go. Finances are what wins nominations/elections. She is broke and the only difficulty Obama has with money is finding a way to deal with it as fast as it is coming in. Face it folks - THIS RACE IS - Obama can rasie serious cash - she can''t - superdelegates will flock to the money - politicans always have and always will... Is that Roy Orbison I hear in the background -..it''s over, it''s over, it''s over......

The arguement about Hillary''s position on NAFTA during her husband''s term as President is a mute point. As the first lady she was bound to promote his agenda whether she agreed with it in part, in sum, or not at all. As for lying about Bosnia. You say lie; I say very bold embellishment but no more so than Obama''s efforts to deceive the public about how much he''d actually benefitted from his association with Rezko, or what he had or hadn''t heard out of Rev. Wright. Heavens - his story on those two subjects alone changed three or four times apiece. And there are soooo many more examples of his stories not picturing reality if one takes the time to learn the truth of the man.

Ya lets trust Hillary on the economy when she can''t even pay her bills now. Plus is she has such a problem with sleep deprivation, who could trust her at 3:00.

She might think the phone ringing was actually a snipper attack
