Did Conservative Talk Show Host Laura Ingraham know Mitt Romney was about to suspend his campaign when she was introducing him at CPAC today?

You might not know by the way she was knocking John McCain, now the clear GOP frontrunner.

So much for getting out of the way of McCain's national campaign - Romney's stated reason for stepping aside.

In her intro, Ingraham took several not-so-subtle shots at McCain's conservative creds, an issue some right-leaning celebrities like Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter, and Rush Limbaugh have been hammering at in recent weeks.

"Of all the people introducing the three remaining candidates for president, I get to introduce the conservative," Ingraham said.

"No one can embody all of Ronald Reagan. It's impossible," said Ingraham. "But we do want, and I think deserve, a candidate who is proud to be a conservative. And who embodies conservative ideals. Is that too much to ask?"

"And here's another little nugget for you," Ingraham continued. "I don't think it's enough to say you were a foot soldier in the Reagan Revolution. I think the question is 'what have you been doing for conservatism lately?'"

Guess if you are the only one left standing, and there is absolutely no other choice other then John McCain and Mike Huckabee, Dr. Dobson finds Huckabee acceptable. Quite frankly, neither are conservatives and more likely than not, Mike Huckabee got the endorsement because of his "preacher" characteristics. If this is the best of what the Republicans have to offer---God help us! It is time for a strong, electable third party candidate to come forward! America doesn''t seem to be happy about what either party has to offer. If they were, there would be an obvious winner with a majority of the votes---and that has yet to happen. This is a sad time in the history of the U.S. There is no one left who will truly clean up Washington DC--not Hillary, Obama, John, and yes--not even Huckabee. We are doomed!; Reply to this comment

She had only moments prior to that introduction been told of Mitt Romney''s decision to suspend his candidacy, and she had the presence of mind to greet the CPAC. Those of you who find delight in name calling and criticism should get a hobby! Nothing can be gained by ugly, hateful, name calling remarks that serve only to belittle another person. Should you be without sin, then go ahead and cast those stones. Yet, should you not be sinless, best you hold onto those rocks!!!!!! Mitt Romney, a patriot and a man of great personal strength did the honorable thing today and should receive your appreciation rather than your condemnation.; Reply to this comment

Evangelical leader James Dobson to endorse Mike Huckabee for GOP presidential nod.

James Dobson, one of the nation''s most prominent evangelical Christian leaders, is about to endorse former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee,the Associated Press has learned. Dobson, founder of Colorado Springs, Colo.-based Focus on the Family, talked to the GOP presidential hopeful Thursday and later was to release a statement explaining his choice, said Gary Schneeberger, a spokesman for Dobson.

Dobson, the founder of Focus on the Family, holds perhaps more influence over rank-and-file Christians than any other evangelical leader in the country. He has stated that he won''t support John McCain, Rudy Giuliani and Fred Thompson, leaving just Huckabee and Mitt Romney.

And now with Mitt Romney dropping out of the race, the decision becomes very clear that Mike Huckabee is the conservative choice.

His backing carries enormous weight, because of the number of voters he reaches via his organization, radio show and is symbolic.

by metal2pedal February 7, 2008 11:46 PM EST: Great job Huckabee. The media tricked us into thinking you were done 2 weeks ago, and that the only 2 choices we had were Romney and Mccain.

My mom got robo called and her call was Romney saying there were only 2 choices left in the Republican race. Him and Mccain, implying Paul and Huckabee dropped out already.

We all feel like we were lied to and it''s too late to get my moms vote back.

I will vote for Huckabee now.

I urge others to switch to Huckabee as well.

After getting all that exposure, he can now set his sights on 2012 with renewed energy.

But in the interim, if you are a Republican who wants to keep conservative values in the party it is super imperative you cast your vote for Huckabee.

McCain is a war hero for sure, but his stances on human cloning, family values and border security run closer on the liberal side.

McCain is a straight talker for sure, but with 8 years of Bush''s "my way or the highway" attitude it has frozen our relationship with many countries

And with McCain being 72 years old, it''s going to be a real challenge physically and mentally to keep up with the aggressive%u3000schedule.

Huckabee on the other hand, is a true conservative, one that totally matches the Republican party platform.

Huckabee has 10 years experience running a government and was even voted the best governor in America by Time Magazine.

Do you see how the media has been keeping Mike Huckabee out of the national spotlight as much as possible? It''s because they know he is the one candidate that can beat the Democrates this year with huge cross over appeal.

Plus the Senate and House got hammered this year because of the "my way or the highway" stance attidude that Bush and McCain support.
