MoveOn Backs Obama
Liberal advocacy group MoveOn, which reports 3.2 million members nationwide, today announced that it is endorsing Barack Obama for the Democratic nomination for President.
"We need a President who will bring to bear the strong leadership and vision required to end the war in Iraq, provide health care to every American, deal with our climate crisis, and restore America's standing in the world," MoveOn.org's Executive Director Eli Pariser said in a statement. "The enormity of the challenges require someone who knows how to inspire millions to get involved to change the direction of our country, and someone who will be willing to change business as usual in Washington. Senator Barack Obama has proved he can and will be that President."
Obama accepted the endorsement from the controversial group, which made headlines in September with its "General Betray Us?" ad critical of Gen. David Petraeus. John McCain and other Republican presidential candidates condemned the ad.
"In just a few years, the members of MoveOn have once again demonstrated that real change comes not from the top-down, but from the bottom-up," said Obama. "From their principled opposition to the Iraq war – a war I also opposed from the start – to their strong support for a number of progressive causes, MoveOn shows what Americans can achieve when we come together in a grassroots movement for change."
This is MoveOn's first endorsement in a Democratic primary, and it comes with a promise from the group to mobilize on Obama's behalf.
"With 3.2 million members nationwide and over 1.7 million members in states that vote next Tuesday, we'll be able to immediately jump into action in support of Senator Obama's candidacy," Pariser said.

During this campaign Senator Obama has referred to his work on a nuclear energy bill as one of his major accomplishments while in the US Senate. A recent New York Times article looked at his work on this bill and found that one of his biggest contributors the Exelon Company, a nuclear energy company, and the GOP had a lot of influence in the changes to this bill, that anti-nuclear energy groups in Illinois were very unhappy with these changes, and that Obama%u2019s campaign manager worked for Exelon. While Obama and his campaign have tried to explain this away what he can not seem to explain is why he calls this one of his biggest accomplishments when it did not even pass the US Senate.
This is not the only time Obama has stretched the truth in this race as he has also claimed that he does not take lobbying money when he has taken federal lobbying money in his past races and takes state lobbying money now, has claimed to hate outside independent groups but is not trying to prevent them from helping him, and has claimed to have run a positive campaign when he also is using Republican like tactics to attack Hillary on her universal health care plan while Obama claims to have an universal health care plan but his plan will not cover between 10 and 20 million people.
And Obama says that Hillary will say anything to get elected? When will the people and the press start to look at Obama%u2019s statements?

Of all the reasons NOT to vote for Obama, because he is black is the worst reason. if you, Hispanics really feel this way--maybe you really should go back home. Americans, no matter what race, do not need more division, and if you think you earn brownie points from whites by hating blacks, then you miss a fine point--We hate freeloaders and cheaters--no matter what color--black, brown, white , tie dyed greenish purple, it does not matter. None of you who are amnestied should have the right to vote anyway. You are all line jumpers and cheaters and dishonest--because for everyone of you that snuck in , is an immmigrant who was held back due to your line jumping. So hate blacks all you want, we Americans, no matter what race or color will always band together against nonAmericans who think they will infiltrate and poison us against each other--because we are the true citizens--not the sneaks who think they can do whatever they want to get in--sort of like Hilary--do any thing to get what you want--you represent division and self interest so does Hilary--great combo--Americans are sick of that kind of thinking.
We%u2019re Obama supporters, too! But we are sure they%u2019ll find some way to stop him as Barack is against the war, a war the conservatives insist will go on. The way they stop him may be very very nasty. Read the details of what we think might happen on our website, down towards the last few paragraphs. If somebody can get our analysis to him, his strategists may be able to find a way around the conservatives%u2019 death wish for him.
Good luck to us all,
Dr. and Mrs. Peter V. Calabria

And who cares about these illegal and disloyal freeloaders, who will lie, cheat, still, murder and do whatever, to avoid the deportation that they deserve. And instead of learning english, the country''s history and ways and mores, these illegal freeloaders are more concerned about ******** out babies as soon as their feet hit American soil, feeding at the public trough and dumping their mattresses and other garbage, all over the place.
