Ron And The Giant Blimp

Ron Paul may be the only presidential candidate whose supporters get as much press as he does.

A 200-foot long blimp encouraging people to "Google Ron Paul," which was paid for by Paul supporters and is not affiliated with his campaign, is presently flying over North Carolina, according to the Associated Press. It "is scheduled to float up the East Coast past major cities," the AP reports.

The blimp marks just the latest example of a Ron Paul initiative that didn't come from Ron Paul. On just one day – November 5th – Paul supporters, in an independent initiative, raised more than $4 million for the presidential campaign of the Libertarian-leaning Republican congressman from Texas.

In the most recent CBS News/New York Times poll, Paul earned the support of 4 percent of Republican primary voters. But despite that relatively small figure, Paul's supporters are unusually passionate and internet savvy, and the candidate, who favors smaller government and opposes the Iraq war, has a disproportionately strong online presence.

He also seems to be the only candidate who will obey the presidential oath of office to protect and defend the constitution.

It is very obvious to me that Ron Paul has earned that trust by being very forthright and honest in every aspect of his life.If the American public does not rally around this man,we will regret it in the years to come!

by v0ila December 16, 2007 9:43 PM EST: Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate who isn''t afraid to express his radical/extreme opinions. He knows what he wants and stands by his convictions. Even though I do not agree with ALL of his stances on the issues, I do agree with most them and completely support him in the race. He wants to bring us something we haven''t had since the birth of this nation, FREEDOM. Real, true freedom. I sincerely believe Paul is the BEST candidate for 2008, and could possibly make the best president this country has seen since JFK.; Reply to this comment

Such example are the proposed mental screening of all american, forced vaccination, more imposed taxes, war without asking our opinion etc... Ron paul cares about the peoples welfare and freedom. Other candidates care more about what to say in order to be elected. In the end they govern more and more within their small group further and further away from the people. So they decide they should a be a war, so be it, they decide we should''t use phonics in school anymore so that it makes it more difficult for children to learn how to read. It makes a lot of them illiterate, then they are being drugged because they can''t learn and by the time, they reach adulhood between the drugging and the illiteracy they are easier to control, and the list goes on. the only difference that exist between the other candidates is how long it will take to control the american population thourougly and how long it will take to get rid of the constitution completly. Basically the life as we know it today will seem like a holliday as we project the downward trend into the future. There are no other choices but to vote for Ron Paul.; Reply to this comment

Too many republicans do not know him because the mainstream media are reluctant to give him air time or print space. His message of Liberty will spark a revolution within American voters who are tired of ho hum politicians who are afraid to do what is right and stand up for citizen rights as defined by the Constitution.

I wonder how often he visited the Gettysburg Battlefield, contemplated Lincoln''s Gettysburg Address, and asked himself if he could be as heroic as the soldiers who died there to save a great experiment in government by, of, and for We the People.

The historical similarity between Paul''s and Lincoln''s statemanship can not be denied.
