New Ads For Clinton, Obama, Romney
Tomorrow, the first TV ads for Barack Obama will air in New Hampshire. In the spot, Obama points out that he "opposed the war in Iraq before it began" (unlike a certain former first lady) and pushes a message of change. You can watch the spot, called "Believe," over at our PrezVid page.
Hillary Clinton, meanwhile, launched her first radio ad today. As the AP reports, the ad, which is running on predominantly black radio stations in South Carolina, takes a shot at the Bush administration's handling of Hurricane Katrina: "`If you're stuck on a rooftop or stranded in the Superdome during a hurricane, you're invisible to this president even when you're on CNN. Well, you are not invisible to me, and you should never be invisible to the president of the United States.'' (You might remember the "invisible" theme from her first TV spot.)
And Mitt Romney also has a new radio ad, which you can hear on YouTube. (That sounds weird, I know.) It references today's visit to New York by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, but focuses on former Iranian President Mohammad Khatami's 2006 visit to Harvard University. Romney, who was Massachusetts governor at the time, opposed that visit, and the ad says he is "leading the opposition" to Ahmadinejad's visit today. "As Governor Mitt Romney did what was right, not what was politically correct," an announcer says in the spot. "As President, he'll do the same."
