Liz Scott: Making Lemonade
You'd be hard pressed to find a mother stronger than Liz Scott. Her daughter Alex passed away a couple of years ago of cancer, but not before establishing this incredible legacy for raising money for pediatric research through lemonade stands. Liz has continued on tirelessly with her daughter's work and the book the family published, "Alex's Lemonade Stand," is one of my favorites. I read it to my kids all the time.
I asked Liz to share what inspires her.

I asked Liz to share what inspires her.

My daughter Alex's lifelong battle with cancer taught me so much about appreciating what I have and making the most of any situation. I lost my daughter to cancer when she was just 8 years old but the life she lived taught me how to live a great life, no matter what the circumstances!(CBS/Liz Scott)
I am so proud to carry on her legacy of "making lemonade from lemons" through the amazing foundation she started in our front yard, Alex's Lemonade Stand.
Every day I meet and talk to people, many of them very young, who have been inspired by Alex to hold their own lemonade stands to help kids with cancer. To see the generosity and kindness of others, especially children, is truly life changing.
The kindness of others, Alex's inspiration, and her example of appreciating each day has stayed with me. Even on the "bad days," I look at my three healthy, wonderful sons and the incredible work I am privileged to be a part of through Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation and I feel like the luckiest mom in the world. — Liz Scott
