Marta returns to Swedish league to play for Tyreso
STOCKHOLM — Five-time FIFA player of the year Marta is returning to play in the Swedish league.
Swedish club Tyreso on Wednesday presented the Brazilian star as its latest player at a news conference in Stockholm.
Marta played for three seasons in the U.S. Women's Professional Soccer league. The WPS suspended the 2012 season amid a legal dispute with an ousted owner, with hopes of restarting next year.
Marta spent five seasons with Umea of the Swedish League from 2004-08.
The value of the contract wasn't disclosed.
