Virgin America names jet after Steve Jobs quote
Airbus A320 with the name "Stay hungry, stay foolish"
(Credit: Virgin America)MacRumors reported that the airline painted the words "Stay hungry, stay foolish" on the side of an Airbus A320.
The Airbus' new name was taken from a 2005 commencement address that Jobs delivered at Stanford University.
"On the back cover of their final issue was a photograph of an early morning country road, the kind you might find yourself hitchhiking on if you were so adventurous. Beneath it were the words: "Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish." It was their farewell message as they signed off. Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish. And I have always wished that for myself. And now, as you graduate to begin anew, I wish that for you."
A spokesperson at the airline explained told MacRumors the name change of the jet with jet with a tail numberN845VA was part of an "internal plane naming competition."
Virgin America has Bay Area roots - its hub is located at the San Francisco International Airport.
