Cleaning Up After Father Time

(CBS/AP)
The Daylight Saving Time switch took place early Sunday morning and as most experts predicted, the world didn't come to an end. Computers that had been "patched" with the latest updates automatically adjusted to the new start of daylight saving time.

But just because your PC's operating system is up-to-date doesn't mean that everything will be OK. I worry that many people might be late for appointments because their calendaring software – specifically Microsoft Outlook – may not be fully aware of the time shift.

In general I didn't have many problems with all my gear. Mostly the antiques that had some slight pains. I have a older Palm OS 4 based PDA that needed to have DST turned off (no longer automatic adjustments) and 2 older Mac OS X 10.2 systems that had the same fix. I had only one other application malfunction slightly (just printed the wrong time, and was easily adjusted). Pretty much anything else worked without incident.

And I'm surrounded by tech, so I'd imagine for the average person it was pretty painless.
