Washington, DC said farewell today to its beloved 4 year old panda Tai Shan. The panda was loaded up on to a Fed-Ex airplane today, headed to its new home in China.

Three-year-old Mei Lan of the Atlanta Zoo will also go to China. Both pandas were born in American zoos, but are now going to help out a breeding program for their endangered species.

So what does it take exactly to Fed-Ex pandas halfway around the world? CBS News digital journalist Fernando Suarez reports from Washington.
