Tooting our own horn, CBS News was honored by the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) with multiple 2009 National Edward R. Murrow awards for excellence in journalism. For the second year in a row, the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric won for the best newscast, which aired November 12, 2008. Watch the program below.

In the radio category, CBS News Radio won five awards, including its third consecutive Edward R. Murrow award for Overall Excellence and the Continuing Coverage award, for Campaign '08, for the ninth time in ten years. In addition, CBS Radio won for the Best New Series with a 15-part series, "Where They Stand," which looked at the key issues in the battleground states. CBS Radio also garnered the Use of Sound award for reporting at Mount Rushmore the day of the South Dakota primary, and in the Hard News Feature category with "Military Malpractice," a story about a Marine who died from skin cancer after being misdiagnosed by a military doctor.
