If Hillary Clinton does what polls suggest she might and easily wins today's Pennsylvania primary, she'll be like the cat with multiple lives.

Three times in this campaign, Barack Obama seemed like Mr. Momentum. By winning in New Hampshire, in California, or in Ohio, he might have pushed Clinton out of the race. And three times, the voters pulled back, and Obama failed to win.

Katie is not responsible for national newcast ratings that have been dropping like a stone for the better part of the last decade. I know it''s really difficult for many men to view women seriously, and I expect that directly affects CBS''specific ratings downturn recently.

Viewers of the dimming "big three" newscasts may prefer over-surgeryed Texas blowhards or 4time married chain-smoking playboys to deliver their news. That''s not a reflection on Katie.; Reply to this comment

makes me wish for an earlier era
when there was civility in the country and Candidates were more honest and forth right.

and some people want back the Old Stone Faced Stoic Anchor Evening News Journalist, uncaring with no personality.

but me I like Anchor People that are Human and show that News and Politics have a real world impact.

As the Dad of two daughters whose lives i would like to go as far as their energy talent allows, I find it frustrating that Ms. Couric is often compared to Ms. Clinton. Whether you like her or not Ms. Clinton is a capable and accomplished politician. Relative to those who run our government today, she has my vote.

For a series of reasons, some under her control, others not, Ms. Couric''s ratings failures have been made a ''women''s'' issue.

That is a shame. She was simply miscast. There should be a female anchor who is successful at one of the major networks. And I hope that someday that will happen.

With Katie what is most frustrating is her lack of hubris. When questioned about the failure of the CBS evening news, her answer was that CBS was not willing to invest in the news, and that the American public was not ready for ''new ideas''.

And sure, I would like to see this chapter of the CBS Evening News, which I enjoyed for years, come to an end.
And, yes, I would like to see CBS someday return to the quality of journalism that once made it the standard to beat.; Reply to this comment

5.4 million viewers, a new all time record low for any Evening News Program...and whose record did she break? Her own of course.

And what did she get paid, something north of $100,000,000. You could probably create a school of journalism for what Moonves is paying Couric.

Actually the poetic honor will be to see him fired before Couric goes.

Before she leaves 4.5m, or even 4.0m should be easily attainable.

One quick fix, just have the correspondents report, with none of Couric''s wisdom and prejudices added. That would save 15 million, and would boost the ratings. To have grown men say this is a first rate show, go to the nearest highschool find a cheer leader with opinions, and there you have it. Or as Katie would say, Holy Conundrums!!; Reply to this comment
