The pope is in the United States for an historic six-day visit.

Comparisons to John Paul II are inevitable … and it looks like Benedict's reception may not be quite as warm as his predecessor's. There is a shadow over Pope Benedict's tour, but it isn't just the memory of the charismatic John Paul.

Wholly Conundrums. As the Beatles so aptly put it ''now''s the time to say goodnight''. And as Shakespeare so aptly said. "The fault, dear Brutus, lies not within our stars, but within ourselves". I am available to put together your last show at CBS video remembrance, complete with:
- clips of your doctored photos
- forged blogs
- your bitter harassment of John Edwards
- and your lack of respect for the one hero the IRAQ war has produced, General Petraeus.
It wasn''t about ***, or even about your legs, it was about liking the anchor, as someone who is knowledgeable, is a decent human being, and has integrity.
So what you can do, is to learn. Be yourself, but be kind, and be tolerant. Cronkite didn''t seek to be a ''star'', we made him one because he had the traits we admired, and the integrity we needed. Network news is not %u2018going away%u2019. This democracy needs more than ever a mechanism to keep our government, the people who have the power%u2026honest%u2026 and TV journalism has and can be one of the most important institutions our democracy has.
Money should not be an issue for you. So if you stay on TV, don''t topple Larry King, or make fun of Dan Rather. Do something you love and you are good at. And something that me all of us, not just you, are enriched by.
You do have talent, energy, and certainly persistence. Choose your next stop wisely, and do some good for the world. Best of luck, Why__Not; Reply to this comment
