Anyone who heard the news couldn't help but be shocked: According to the CDC, one in four teenage girls in America has a sexually transmitted disease, or STD.

More shocking still: Fully half of girls between the ages of 14 and 19 say they've had sex.

It's a topic that deserves attention, and discussion. So click on my notebook to get started.

We weren''t angels when we were young, Katie. But at least our generation was privileged to have a childhood.

S ex, violence, immorality and selfishness permeates most that we absorb from movies, music, and the gaming entertainment industry. And there is no doubt that we have seen the bad effects on our young ones.

How do you feel, Katie, being a mother of two teens yourself? You must feel as I do---

We may not have failed to give our children every material thing they needed, (and perhaps too many that they did not need as well), but perhaps we as a society of parents have failed to give our children what they truly deserved:
a Childhood.
