Midwest Teen Sex Show is meant to shock — and I was shocked by the blunt, breezy talk about teenage sex.

The podcast takes a subject most parents aren't real comfortable with and makes it "just another" part of growing up.

The three-to-five minute show tackles masturbation, homosexuality, and even changing in the locker room.

It doesn't suggest teenage sex is OK, in fact, the show's straight-faced narrator Nikol Hasler reminds viewers that there's nothing wrong with saying no. But what she does say is that there's nothing easy about being prepared – or slutty about carrying protection.

And in a country where despite all the warnings and the easy availability of contraceptives the number of teens having babies is on the rise, that one message may be the one that needs to get out.

Young people are *literally* sick and tired of not getting the information they need and want about *** and sexuality. They want honest and open discussions about what their bodies are experiencing, how to make the best choices for themselves, how to talk about *** and sexuality. And, yet, our society has slammed the door in their faces and turned them out to get their information from tv, movies and the internet.

by marjay13 January 10, 2008 2:09 PM EST: Cynthia - *** ed has been in the schools for over three decades now, and it hasn''t helped the problem one iota. It has made it worse. Haven''t you all been watching? They are even teaching the kids that homosexuality is an acceptable alternative lifestyle. The only thing that will save our kids from the personal misery and wretched lives that result from illicit and/or perverted ***, is for the parents to unitedly teach their children that *** outside of marriage is wrong, because it will complicate and/or ruin their lives; and then the parents must stand guard as sentinels in their childrens lives (as they did when they were babies) to keep the ravenous wolves away.; Reply to this comment
