Great brodcasts!

Congratulations to you and your staff.

A good sign off could be:

"let's continue to feel the world together..."

Thank you for your hard work,

Tomas

Hi Katie,

Great job!!! You asked for a good sign off and I liked what you did this evening. Just in case you are still looking.....
This is Katie Couric, consistently bringing specifics. Have a great evening!!

Dear Katie,
I wanted to wait until I saw
Your second newscast to find a flaw
Was it a fluke the first one was great
You handled it with ease, "Hey, no sweat"
You fit that "chair", tell the news with flare
The first woman newscaster, a breath of fresh air
You bring warmth to each story with a special touch
Cant wait for tomorrow, I enjoyed it so much
I now must confess, I am very impressed
Me, change to CBS who would have guessed
I am sorry Brian .. the change has been made
Katie's got what it takes, she's made the grade

We have a suggestion for your sign off
: "Health and Happiness, Merry Christmas"
or "Health and Happiness, Happy Thanksgiving" or
"Health and Happiness, Have a Safe Weekend"
The key words are always Health & Happiness, and changing the well wishes at the end of the tag line each night.

Best of Luck on your new endeavors at CBS.

Ms. Couric,
I thought your first show was wonderful and informative. I look forward to tuning in to CBS news on a regular basis.
On a side note, can anyone tell me who's shoes you were wearing. I want a pair and have not found them, are they this season's? Thanks so much, and may all your news be good news!

Katie,
You did a great job on the evening news for the first time. Appeared a little nervous at first, but must admit you did pull it off with the style and poise we have all come to know.

As far a signing off, something simple and sweet, but not syrup is defiantly needed. You have come a long way and seem to be in great mental health since the death of her husband. I see you as someone who treats yourself with great respect and is kind.
My suggestion would be:

This is Katie Couric saying %u201Cgood night, and be good to yourself%u201D

Good luck, Pam

Katie was much more herself tonight. More relaxed looking.

Katie....Even though I am no fan of CBS and/or Viacom after their treatment of "The King of All Media", I must say that I really enjoy the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric. And I will continue to watch.

If you are still looking for a closing statement, I would suggest that you borrow the one that was used for decades by the late Bill Burns on KDKA in Pittsburgh:

"Good night. Good luck. And good news tomorrow."

You can't go wrong with a close that was used by a local anchor who had a 60-70% audience share at his peak. Add to the fact that he and his daughter (the late Patti Burns) were the very first father & daughter anchor team from the late 1970s to the early 1990s, and you have a winning combination (and I don't know that there has been one since).

Bill Burns was the epitome of an "achor's anchor" and a "reporter's reporter". Adopting his closing line would be the best.

I wish you all of the best luck.

Katie,

Are you still looking for your sign off signature? You could try out seasonal slogans?
How about "Grill'em if you got'em!"
on hot summer days? Or "Is it cold enough for
you?" for winter? My Swedish Grandma always
said "What do you know for sure?" You could
say "I'm Katie Couric, that's our news for
tonight. And what do YOU know for sure?"

Bye now,
