What'd We Miss?

So …it's the Tuesday after Labor Day, and we scrammed early last week.

Did we miss anything?

I mean, aside from Bush's surprise visit to Iraq and Katie's Baghdad trip (more on that later) and the no-hitter and Senator Craig's post-dated resignation – well, you may have seen us discuss it on "Reliable Sources" this past weekend – and Appalachian State and Hurricane Felix and that new book on President Bush, not to mention Jerry Lewis going all Andrew "Dice" Clay on his telethon.

Yeah, we mean aside from those things.

We're back on the trail this morning, but in light of our having been out for most of the Craig story, we wanted to highlight two thought-provoking opinion columns about his now infamous bathroom escapade.

First, a bit of contrarianism from a political scientist at UC-Santa Barbara (who heads a research center that focuses on homosexual minorities in the military), wondering why police can apprehend people based on hints of potential impropriety: "A Sting He Didn't Deserve."

And second, a bit of schadenfreude from Slate's William Saletan who sees Craig being punished by the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy he helped enact: "Hypocritical? Don't Ask."

Hope everyone had a great holiday.

President Bush spent approximately 6 hours on the ground in Iraq on Monday, if he really wanted to pursue his complete agenda George Bush should%u2019ve stayed there in Iraq until the job was done!

But, after only a few hours in Iraq President Bush cut and ran%u2026

The Surge is working according to our President George "WMD" Bush. After almost 6 years of this occupation of a sovereign country that didn%u2019t attack the World Trade Center (and implode building 7), Bush has yet to communicate to the American People the status of Iraqi Oil.

Saddam Hussein%u2019s Iraq Oil production averaged about 2.5 million barrels per day. How much Oil has been produced during the years of the US Military Occupation? And, what is the propagation of the future Oil Production for Iraq?

Bush/Cheney has attempted to apply a tool called Oil Profit Sharing Agreement (PSA) to be approved by the new Iraqi Parliament. PSA%u2019s are normally used for high risk geological oil drilling. PSA%u2019s have not been necessary for Iraq, and the surrounding Oil Producing Countries.

The 30 year Oil Profit Sharing Agreement in reality will enable the gathering of Iraq%u2019s 400 billion barrels of oil to be taken from the Iraqi People and turned over to a hand full of Multinational Corporations. The Bush Oil Deal doesn%u2019t offer any hope of actual revenues or jobs to be shared with the Iraqi People.

This is where we are really at with our involvement in Iraq today, The American People have spent and are continued to be forced to spend on President Bush%u2019s Oil Profit Sharing Agreement to turn the Oil over to not America, nor Americans, but completely private Multinational Corporations.

Stay the course?
