"We have a precious amount of time on the CBS 'Evening News' and I don't think we need to ever utter the name Paris Hilton."

--"Evening News" Anchor Katie Couric, speaking at a WBZ radio sponsored breakfast in Boston. The last two times Hilton was mentioned on the "Evening News" were on April 2, 2006, in a story about video games, and June 4, 2005, in a story about Marilyn Monroe's belongings being auctioned. The stories predated Couric's start at the "Evening News."

by mattcat25 May 11, 2007 1:42 PM EDT: Paris Hilton shouldn%u2019t have to be expected to serve any jail time, imprisonment, nor fines commensurate to her wealth. The Law, Law Enforcement, and Corrections are for the plebs.
We can%u2019t expect someone from the top 1% to follow the rules!

I do believe that Paris should be completely pardoned by Governor Schwarzenegger and all charges should be exonerated. I mean, what really did she do? And, would she be getting away with anything? Who did she hurt? Or what damage did she really cause? It%u2019s not like she led a country into an unnecessary war that has accounted for hundreds of thousands of deaths in Iraq, nor did she out a CIA covert operative, nor did she commit voter fraud or mis-use of public $monies. She didn%u2019t even defraud medical physicians into allowing the abuse of oxycontin!

What did she do?

by presidentusa May 10, 2007 4:06 PM EDT: I believe there is problems there and don't blame the district judge's there just doing there jobs but police can be a crew some times see my case www.presidentcandidate.zoomshare.com in my case i was pulled over arrested as a presidential candidate went to court barnstable had letter from registery dismissed it wasnt suspended 5/3/07 but payed 200 cash towing and then on 5/7/07 i was pulled over in mashpee massachusetts arrested hancuffed dragged in cruiser sent to falmouth 5/8/07 where i again its pending june 12,2007 payed cash towing 200 pretrial my social last 6 of it 580707 it match's date and prior payed cash to cape human services 460 west main st hyannis in the gubernatorial race i was in and know the presidential race 2008 same things happening and the lawyer that works for the rapest of my daughter works at 460 west main st legal services and i was kicked out of my home a week before the rape trial sceduled and a day after the stepson committed 2 209a orders on me in wich the exwife was with him in the house and kicked out by a bogus restraining order and denied contempt on her when in fact she was in contempt and agent lied weeks prior too 5/3/07 arrest irs agent in hyannis payed 750 child support to the rapest and the the irs agent said pay 93 a week no problem dowm loaded the facts www.presidentcandidate.zoomshare.com it could be cash her problem the actress; Reply to this comment

by CBSTV May 9, 2007 4:21 PM EDT: It is encouraging to hear Ms. Couric recognize that the broadcast has rather limited air time and that celebrity/"show biz" stories ought not supplant important news reporting. Perhaps more people would watch the network news if it was all about Hollywood. But if attracting the maximum possible audience is the overriding goal, then close the News Division and air "Entertainment Tonight" at 6:30 P.M.; Reply to this comment


by choney2 May 9, 2007 12:51 PM EDT: If I never hear anything else about Paris Hilton or her sister and throw in Nicole Richie. It will truly not make me sad at all. For people that have done nothing productive in this world at all, they just happen to be born to the right family's. They are the reason our kid's want to be rich and famous without putting in the work it takes to get that way. It does seem unfair that they wear the best clothes and drive the most expensive cars and live in beautiful homes. And it is all just handed to them on a silver platter! I hope she get's to feel how the other side lives while she is in jail. She needs a reality check, maybe she will be more Thankful for her millions.; Reply to this comment
