Which Way Will They Go?

(CBS/AP)
After weeks of frenzied speculation and endless guessing, we'll soon know whether the Democratic Party has managed to wrest control of at least one chamber of Congress away from Republican control. While "conventional wisdom" has recently coalesced around the idea of a big night for Dems, we're starting to see just a bit of hedging going on, at least in the headlines. The Washington Post this morning carries this header: "Parties Crank Up Voter Turnout Efforts." But the subhead notes: "Amid the Last-Minute Blitz; Some Polls Hold Positive Signs for Republicans."

The New York Times headline echoes that sentiment: "Bush Trumpets Verdict in Iraq As Some Polls Lift G.O.P. Spirits." But the USA Today apparently didn't get the memo, where the front-page story leads with this: "Democrats, poised to score gains in the U.S. Senate, are struggling to pull ahead in the final seat they need to win control." Not a whole lot has actually changed since last week, when most of the headlines and stories centered around Dem prospects for big wins. Of course, in dealing with unknowable events like elections, it's never a bad idea to get all the bases covered.

As I stated in the past, there is little that can outclass the comedy show during elections. Everyone knows the answer, isn't that right Mattcat?

Republicans around the nation are making fake robocalls perporting to be from Democratic campaigns. These robocalls claim to be from Democrats and dial people's numbers continually in the middle of the night. The idea being that these voters would be so angry that they'll vote Republican.

In a nation with a functioning news media, these voters would show up and vote Democratic to punish the actual people responsible for this illegal harrassment, but the media will make sure they never know, so that yet again, the victims are punished for getting screwed.

Well, tomorrow will be another election day and I%u2019m afraid that our Democracy is over. Americans will go to the Polls in earnest believing that their vote will be counted correctly and that together the voice of the people will speak. But, the reality is that the ruling class has taken control of our country and the election process. The past recent elections, this election, and all other future elections will be pre-determined.

The Ruling class has taken away our Constitutional Right to Vote, they believe that the common man can%u2019t be trusted to make decisions and can%u2019t be responsible to plot a course for the United States. The 200 year experiment in Democracy is over. There will still be elections, and most even though they won%u2019t believe their vote will be counted correctly will continue to go to the polls and will attempt to teach their children about the %u201CGreat Democracy%u201D.

There is no other country that will be able to come to, and free the People of the United States from our own controlling dictatorship. Those of us that will not be able to relinquish the words of Patrick Henry %u201CGive me Liberty, or give me death%u201D will inevitably see their demise at the very hand of our own Government.
