BP: Halliburton destroyed key oil spill evidence

NEW ORLEANS - BP, in a high-stakes court filing, is accusing Halliburton of destroying damaging evidence about the quality of its cement slurry that went into drilling the oil well that blew out last year and caused the nation's worst offshore oil spill.

On Monday in a New Orleans federal court, BP accused Halliburton of having intentionally destroyed evidence about possible problems with its cement slurry poured into the deep-sea Macondo well about 100 miles off the Louisiana coast. An oil well must be cemented properly to avoid blowouts.

Also in the court documents, BP accused Halliburton of failing to produce incriminating computer modeling evidence. Halliburton says the modeling is gone.

BP asked a judge to penalize Halliburton and order a court-sponsored computer forensic team to recover the missing modeling results.

This is an industry that thinks nothing of death.
They use middle easterners as pawns, playing them against each other in their game of "control supply, raise prices". US foreign policy is just one of the tools they use to make profit.
100s of 1000s dead in wars in the middles east with weapons we give them, trade for hostages, or sell to them then have them shoot US soldiers with later when the "friend" ends up being the enemy. 911 was a direct result of people fed up with these tactics and having their only resource stolen from them. ENRON was not even the tip of the iceberg of the energy industry. It, not the US or China is the most powerful entity in the world and they will kill you if it means a $. We are a simple front for this corrupt/morally bankrupt group.

Oh Wow! There's a huge surprise. Complicit investigators allow the gods of corporate oil to destroy evidence in the largest manmade environmental disaster in the history of the world. Must not be politically correct to actually convict criminals. Especially since BP is once again drilling in the gulf of mex...or dead fish puddle.

No I do not work for Halliburton and never have. First of all, there is no data that the failure was related to anything but over-pressure or a serious mistake by BP. Second, the BOP should have prevented a blow-out in any case. Third, go read the actual report and maybe you will understand a little more ( however I seriously doubt it).
