Speed-dating gets nerdy

Speed-dating -- the technique of dating a bunch of strangers one at a time, each for a few minutes -- has a new twist: nerds.
Promoters say speed-dating is a great way to meet that special someone -- even if you consider yourself a nerd. And they're trying to show it, hosting so-called "Nerd Nites" in New York City.
Matt Wasowski, "Nerd Nite" founder, says the events have produced results. He told CBS News, "I can at least count on more than two hands the number of people in very long-term committed relationships as a specific direct result of meeting at Nerd Nite. Apparently, whatever we're doing is working."
Check out the nerd speed-dating scene in the video below to see how some looking for love bond over their nerd passions. Also, Bridget Carey, CNET.com senior editor, who helped host a "Nerd Nite," discussed her impressions of the event on "The Early Show."
