Earlier this month, more than 60,000 Texas residents petitioned President Barack Obama to "peacefully grant" the state to secede from the United States of America.

Now thousands in the Lone Star State and nationwide are asking the commander-in-chief to "secede" Jerry Jones from the Dallas Cowboys.

According to the Dallas Morning News, a man from Georgia started the petition to get the Cowboys owner and general manager removed from office. The plea came Friday -- hours after the Cowboys lost at home to the Redskins on Thanksgiving day.

The petition, which is posted on the White House's "We the People" website, states the following:

"We, the Citizens of the Great State of Texas, and Dallas Cowboys fans worldwide, have been oppressed by an over controlling, delusional, oppressive dictator for way too long. Request the Executive Branch's immediate assistance in removal of owner and GM, Jerry Jones. His incompetence and ego have not only been an extreme disappointment for way too long, but moreover, it has caused extreme mental and emotional duress."

As of this writing, more than 3,800 people have signed the petition. If a petition manages to tally 25,000 signatures, "it will be reviewed by the Administration and we will issue a response," according to the site.

Jones told CBS News' Scott Pelley in a "60 Minutes" interview that his longtime friend George Steinbrenner would have fired him as general manager for his poor performance in 2010 - the year his team was celebrating its 50th anniversary and he was hosting the Super Bowl at Cowboys Stadium.

But earlier this month, Jones said there is "no way" he is giving up his GM duties despite the team's struggles.

The ONLY way to get to Jerry to leave....is stop watching the DALLAS COWBOYS...and acknowledge the team as the ARLINGTON WRANGLERS.

Jerry WRANGLED the statium from the City of Arlington..and what an election that was on the statium, folks. And now....after a good run of coaches....we have the Arlington Wranglers who have been a regular team
OWNED by a most ugly owner.

After Barry Switzer's mistake of taking a gun on a plane....you would think Jerry's driving away from a traffic stop would have landed him in DEEP DO-DO in Texas....but oh, no! He is still owner and afforded NO jail or a good trussing up in handcuffs for eluding authorities.

Best way to do Jerry....is NOT watch the Wranglers play, DO NOT BUY the Wrangler tickets, and DO NOT GO to any activities in the JERRY BOWL.

We can outlive Jerry by NOT doing anything with him. He can be replaced if we just ignore him.

When Texas succeeds from the United States of America, the Dallas Cowboys will no be longer be part of the "National" Football League, aka the NFL.

Jerry will then have to sell the team to L.A. at a Fire Sale price. Jerry then converts Cowboy Stadium into JJ's House of Football (aka Soccer) and Flea Market Rodeo.

Texas Wins, the USA Wins and L.A. Taxpayers get pay for another shrine to a billionaire.

First i want to say it is not Jerry Jones fault for the way the Cowboys play, yea we lost on thanksgiving but it was the players that did that not Jerry Jones..He does his best and the players need to step up and take on the responsibility of doing there best.. Everyone cant keep putting the blame on the owners or the coaches, if everyone would stop and look at the players they dont do what they need to do to win a football game...I have been a Cowboys fan for a long time and I may get mad cuz they dont win a game but i dont blame the coach or the owner of the Dallas Cowboys. So everyone that keeps talking crap about the Cowboys and there owner or coaches really need to stop and look at the players yea the coaches may make bad choice's but the players could make it better by playing better...

President Obama has about as much control over this as he does gasoline prices - namely, ZERO. Don't you understand ? Rich people get what they want in America. Especially in Texas.

I was actually just laughing about New Jersey and New York today. And now I can laugh at you; I don't think 60,000 Texans makes Texas trying to succeed.
