McCain, Manchin, McChrystal on "Face the Nation"

Bob Schieffer, why keep throwing softball questions to Rep. Blackburn and Speaker Gingerich? Why don't you ask them direct questions and hold them to answer? For example, "Do you dispute banning assault weapons and high capacity magazines would over time reduce gun violence?" And what about asking whether or not the initiative put forward by President Obama for gun control, increased funding for mental health, and background checks represent a balanced approach that will have a positve impact?" and, "How much funding has the NRA contributed to your political campaigns?"

Gen. McChrystal is right on! I served, and faced a RIF just 2 years in. But I feel that my time in the Air Force shaped me in indescribable ways. I completely agree that every American should be required to serve in some capacity in National Service. I am dismayed that our nation doesn't already require this. The General is a shinning example of Leadership, Nationalism, and professionalism. We need a lot more men like him in this world!

I couldn't stand watching McCain talk when I heard him say that the President is ignoring his staff and their decisions. What about the Republicans???? They've been ignoring the AMERICAN PEOPLE and THEIR wants for YEARS and he has no problem with that. He thinks he's above all of us and we aren't smart enough to make decisions? Well...we elected the best man BACK into office and he needs to take his sour grapes and bad taste in his mouth and retire to an old folks home.

Yes sir what a stirring debate about Afghanistan. First you ask a disgruntled warmonger about leaving Afghanistan and then you top that with soft ball questions to a disgraced former commander of forces in Afghanistan. I mean...where is the debate? Why no voice of opposition to our spending over $100,000,000,000 in a corrupt third world nation that poses no threat to the US?

These days will be remembered as the time when our press acted as pimps for the neocons.

I can't believe it ! Finally some talk !!! I'm impressed Bob as it is finally dawning on people that we have a serious issue here and it needs to be fixed ! Bravo to you to get the right people on your show !!!Dem's talking to Repub's ? What a concept ! So refreshing to hear McCain and Manchin agree and disagree !!!! McChrystal was very vague on some things but I give him credit to say some things he did agreeing that He is selling a book ! Wish He was a little more open ... I have hope that We may be able to force the President to open up and show Us why He was elected instead of being the arrogant BUM that He has been showing people !!!! Lets not forget Congress back on board as well as no help over there also !!!! Awesome Job Bob and keep up the good work ! Always a supporter and PS I loved what I heard on Gun Control . Open and no decisions until ALL of the facts are understood and then and ONLY then to attempt solutions !!! One Happy Massachusetts Resident !
