'Tis the season for presidential politics

Remember when the general election campaigns started around Labor Day? Well, no more! The White House concluded a couple of weeks ago that Mitt Romney was going to be the Republican nominee, and that's why you saw Vice President Biden on "Face the Nation."

Baseball season hasn't even started yet, and Republicans haven't officially selected their nominee, but what we used to call the Fall campaign is up and running.

Which means we are finding out earlier than ever how the two sides will frame the contest.

Republicans will try to make it a referendum on Barack Obama, who they'll picture as a failed president who couldn't keep his promises but is determined to raise taxes.

Democrats will say it's about fairness, and paint Romney as an out-of-touch rich guy determined to keep taxes low for his friends at the country club.

Voters will listen to all this for a while, and then about the time of the World Series they'll begin to think about more serious things - the economy mostly, and who in the White House they'd feel most comfortable with in times of crisis.

And THEN, as they always do, they'll pick the next president.

The scary part of this is that the next president will probably nominate 2 new SC Judges. Imagine how partisian and Marxist leaning the Judges will be that Barry O will nominate.

I am fascinated that there are no articles anywhere on the mainstream media websites talking about how Obama attempted to bully the Supreme Court yesterday. This was an unprecedented action by a sitting president while the court is debating and considering a case. This just proves how out of touch and biased the mainstream media has become.

I'm looking at a republican party who sees nothing wrong with the fact that almost 1/4 of the children in America,land of plenty, are in danger of going hungry and don't seem to understand that children who are hungry and unable to access medical care when needed is the sign of a failing nation.

I am looking at a republican party that thinks the lower wages for working people, the better, without realizing that lower wages means less money for individuals and families to spend and pump up the economy. That same republican party doesn't seem to understand or care why after all the job outsourcing bills they pushed, people don't have jobs and are having trouble paying their bills and keeping a roof over their heads.

I see a republican party that is composed of millionaires, calling for drastic cuts to what they're renamed as "entitlement programs" without understanding that with manufacturing jobs gone and a fair amount of white collar jobs gone, and an awful lot of parents worried about how they're going to feed their kids tonight that the only thing left putting money into the economy is the elderly and the republicans want to saw the legs out from under them too.

Student loans that have been privatized and therefore have higher interest results in students not being able to contribute to the economy after graduation as substantially as they have in the past. Drastic cuts to entitlements and all the calls the media has been making for people to take care of their elderly themselves in addition to raising their children will result in little or no money to pump up the economy.

The really sad thing is that I see a democratic party who turned their backs on their principles and voters and are doing the same thing as the republicans. Things may be fine up there in the economic stratosphere most of you live in but without the base that holds you up, Newton's law says you're gonna fall. I seriously do not know what you were thinking or if you were thinking. I do know that there is no point in voting for either the republicans or the democrats or the tea party/libertarians/whatever they change their name to next election. I'm not voting for any of you.

I know you are frustrated but we need all good americans to vote. It is our civic duty. Vote for the person that best upholds your vision for the future. If you do not vote, you cannot complain about the resulting consequences. Remember 2010, alot of people wish they would have voted maybe we'd have people in office that would have actually worked together instead of the stalemate we have now. Big things will have to be decided over these next four years (social security, tax reform, etc.) Remember there are alot of corrupt people hoping good folks will be frustrated and sit this election out.
