Republicans ask Clinton to turn over info on Benghazi

Three days before ending her tenure as secretary of state, congressional leaders are asking Hillary Clinton to turn over documents from top State Department officials relating to the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi.

In a letter sent to Clinton yesterday, three Republicans asked Clinton to hand over all the e-mails, cables, and memoranda that she and her deputies received regarding to security in Benghazi; documents reviewed by the State Department's Accountability Review Board (ARB); as well as video of the September 11, 2012 attack on the Benghazi compound. The letter was signed by House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce, R-Calif., House Oversight and Government Reform Darrell Issa, R-Calif., and House Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee on National Security Chairman Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah.

Clinton testified on the events in Benghazi before Royce and other members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee last week.

Nevertheless, he and the other congressional leaders say they still have questions about the incident. "Unfortunately, the ARB did not address some important questions about the attacks in Benghazi, which we believe may contain crucial lessons learned for other U.S. facilities abroad to follow," their letter says.

The congressmen point out that the ARB never interviewed Clinton or her top officials about the attack. It also notes the lack of explanation for Under Secretary Patrick F. Kennedy's apparent decision to withdraw the Security Support Team from Libya.

Americans regardless of party know a witch hunt when they see it. If only Congress would put that much energy into working together to better the lives of the electorate.

This country has problems that need the immediate attention of elected officials. Why are these Republicans spending so much time on yesterday's news. Defending against the attack of our Libyan consulate should have been managed much better than it was - and so - that's yesterday's news. Let's move on.

Asking Clinton to turn over information is a waste of time because she will jerk you around until hell freezes over.

Exhume Woods' body to check for a bullet in his back for insubordination.

Who gave the order to "stand down"?

Where are the 30 witnesses?

The logical conclusion based upon the evidence we have seen thus far is that the Obama administration knew that Ambassador Stevens was suffering a terrorist attack during an election year, yet did not want to admit that a terrorist attack occurred under Obama's watch. The story of the "video" was created to conceal the truth and protect Obama's image during the campaign, even at the expense of four brave Americans. What we have is four fellow Americans being abandoned by their Commander in Chief, who then orchestrated or permitted a cover up to occur for political expediency. Regardless of one's political preferences such conduct is treasonable and must be accounted for. The American people deserve to see all documents pertaining to this incident, and to know who exactly drafted the "talking points" that Mrs. Clinton mentioned. A sincere President would have immediately taken responsibility for the incident and not tried to hide behind a veil of "plausible deniability."

ask Mr. Colin Powell, as he was given the same info that W was given, and agreed on the WMD-- Now he is against the republicans as much as you all are, and still agrees that they did the right thing based on the evidence they were given-
I don't recall any of them blaming a video though?

At what institution of higher learning did you study the academic course "Logic 101". Did you get a passing grade? Please enumerate what comprises "the evidence we have seen thus far". And who is the "we" that has seen it? How is it that you know about this mysterious evidence, but none of the news channels or newspapers know about it?

Please think about global warming when you write comments like this that don't do much more than release hot air into the ether. Or are you a proud member of the new GOP (Gaseous Obdurate Philistines)? If you are, there's going to be a party in La Jolla this summer, where Mitt built his seaside mansion and dug a 60 foot hole next to the surf line for his underground garage. He wasn't worried because all of the worrisome comments about global warming and the rising sea level is just the work of a bunch of liberal academics. Anyway, there's a betting pool as to which luxury car fills up with seawater first.

Anyone who believes the story that is coming out of the administration is true is, at best, naive. If this were a Republican administration, there would be, at the very least, charges of obstruction of Congress, perjury (either Charlene Lamb or Hillary- take your pick). The media would have been like a pit-bull on this if it happened under Bush or any other non-Democrat.

You cannot be serious after Bush and Chenney lied us into a war and then refused to testify under oath or even in a public setting.I guess the MSM didn't cover that because Chenney is sooooo far to the left?

Still many unanswered qyestions particularly in light of admiral ham's statements that he had aircraft and helicopters ready to deply for his aircraft carrier and never received an order to deploy. obama gives those orders. He was then transferred to another carrier group.
presence of x-cia smacks of iran-contra. loads of quadaffi arms floating around. so arms to syria is real possibility.
no time line of obama's activities and none for hillary on 9/11 around the attack.
no explanation why hiliary does not report on it and obama send out rice with the bogus story that obama too uses for a few weeks.

I flew fighter jets in the Navy for 11 years. You don't know beans about the chain of command in the US Navy.

What is your opinion about the story currently making the rounds that "W" was actually the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks? You should find a bigger story to hype than the attack on one of our Libyan consulates. BTW, by the end of the year, no-one will even remember the incident - why? Because we will probably supporting our ally Israel in its surgical strike air war against Iran, and because SCOTUS will have ruled that it is illegal for any citizen to own a WEAPON OF MASS DESTRUCTION - that WMD's were never intended to be covered by the language of the 2nd Amendment, and in consequence, Federal military and State Guard units will be given the assignment to confiscate weapons that will now be illegal.
