Beyonce, Kelly Clarkson to perform at Obama's inauguration

President Obama's inaugural ceremony on Jan. 21 won't be as glitzy as his first inauguration, but there will be some star power there.

Beyonce Knowles, Kelly Clarkson and James Taylor will all perform at the inauguration, the presidential inaugural committee announced today.

"Vice President Biden and I are honored to have these wonderfully talented musical artists perform at the Inaugural ceremony," Mr. Obama said in a statement. "Their music is often at the heart of the American story and speaks to folks across the country."

James Taylor and Knowles both performed at the 2009 inauguration, which featured several well-known performers like Bono, Garth Brooks, Sheryl Crow and Mary J. Blige. Clarkson, meanwhile, endorsed Mr. Obama in late 2012, about a year after voicing her support for Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul.

The presidential inaugural committee also announced that Richard Blanco will serve as the inaugural poet at the swearing-in ceremony.

Haven't you heard. The country is more diverse. This coming from a older white middle class male, employed ,college graduate that has never been on public assistance. What difference does it make who preforms?

SOUR GRAPES MUCH? Most of you are just very small minded and just can stand the fact the MR Rigid didn't win. Really thought you had it the bag didn't you? Well the results show that the majority of the people in this country didn't agree with you. Give it up. He's mixed race. He has a name other than John Smith and he won. So he can have anybody he wants to preform at his SECOND inauguration. The future is bright isn't it? I realize I'm throwing it in your face but after listening to all of your veiled racist garbage I feel like it's well deserved. Now go back to your little hovel and brush off your hood so it will fit you pointed little head Bubba.
