Romney rejoins Marriott board of directors
He came from the business world, and to the business world he returns.
2012 GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney has rejoined the board of directors of Marriott International, Inc., the company said Monday. Romney's board term begins today.
J.W. Marriott, Jr., Marriott's executive chairman, said the company is "delighted that Gov. Romney has agreed to rejoin our board, on which he has served with distinction twice before. We will benefit from his tremendous energy and capability to guide long-term success in an increasingly complex business environment."
Arne Sorenson, the company's president and CEO, praised Romney as an "astute, independent director who is fluent in the demands and opportunities of our highly competitive industry."
Romney, who stayed at the J.W. Marriott in downtown Washington, D.C. last week, said, "It is an honor to once again be able to serve in the company of leaders like Bill Marriott and Arne Sorenson and to support the work of the tens of thousands of Marriott associates who make Marriott International the renowned success that it is."
Romney's previous stints on the company's board were between 1993 and 2002, when he left to serve as governor of Massachusetts, and between 2009 and 2011, when he left to pursue the presidency.

- I also read today that one Congresswoman from Missouri "Emerson" who won reelection to Congress is now going to resign as she found a higher paying private sector job than the $174,000 that Congress pays.

- Republicans have more allegiance to Grover Norquist and his anti tax pledge than to America, their oath of office and our constitution. Any politician that places Grover Norquist's pledge above America, their oath of office and our constitution has no place in American government.

- Yeah, I can't figure out how they get away with the pretend christianity. They believe God was once a man like us, had sex with Mary, that she was not a virgin beforehand, that Jesus is Satan's brother and that he's not God. They believe in magic underwear and their entire "religion" was created by a 14 year old. So, the whole "Church of Jesus Christ" thing is a sad, damned joke!
