Romney's presidential transition website surfaces

Mitt Romney did not win the election, but plans for his transition from candidate to president have been in the works since June and part of that process was mistakenly revealed this week: the creation of a website with information about his transition. Before it was taken down, Taegan Goddard, the blogger who discovered the site, saved some images of it.

One of the website's pages includes a Romney quote, "I'm excited about our prospects as a nation." Another page details how to apply for jobs with warnings that the "hours are long and the pace is intense." The site also provided information on Inauguration Day and choosing his cabinet.

Work on a presidential transition began long before Election Day, federal funds are provided to both nominees to build transition teams and rent office space. For instance, in 2008, the presidential transition began two years before Election Day, according to the General Services Administration, which administers the transitions of presidents-elect.

The GSA's duties, enacted in 2010, is to provide "some services and facilities" for "eligible candidates for President or Vice-President in advance of the election," according to the GSA website.

In related technology news, it turns out that Chinese and Iranian scientists collaborated to hack Romney's Each-A-Sketch, making him say all sorts of crazy stuff.

After reading all of this hateful material it makes me extremely sad for our future.
If we dont agree keep it movin', no need to call names or be hateful to the people running. I may not have voted for the President, but is because I am ready to see what someone else can do. He promised me 4 years ago that all he needed was 4 years, and now he says he needs more. I dont think he did enough for me and my family to deserve another chance. Does this mean I am going to go around talking hateful about him, no.
And you people should be ashamed of yourselves. I thought liberals were big on the Anti-bullying campaign, but if you disagree with them you are an idiot, homophobe, moron, racist, and etc...

It is disgusting and depressing that we have come so far to be so low.

GROW THE F UP AMERICA!

Every losing candidate has had transition plans. No shame in that.

After reading some of these comments, I can see why Obama won another 4 years. The minimal intellectual capacity of many of his voters amazes me.

Romney bloggers aren't exactly IQ giants either.

I don't fault Romney for thinking about transition plans should he have won. I would expect all Presidential nominees to do the same. But thankfully, he will never have the opportunity to implement them.

These comments are silly. Do you really believe that neither candidate had separate plans for if they won or lost? Do you really think that if Romney had won, they would suddenly be running around at the last instant trying to slap a website together?

Most of these comments show a disturbing lack of critical thinking skills.

It is sad to read these comments. Success comes to those that prepare and set goals. Lose the hate people. Hope and Change,
what is it? Please lets lose the hate!

What a joke. Well, they say that hope springs eternal in the human breast... But we voted for real hope and for real progress.

Am I the only one who noticed that the version of the Presidential oath of office which was printed on the "Inauguration", did NOT end with the words, "So help me God"? If Obama had done the same thing, Ann Coulter would have given birth to hedgehogs!

If you had a copy of the Constitution, you would know that the oath does not contain the phrase "So help me God."

I agree they wouldn't even notice. The same irk bad mouthing Obama would be singing a happy tone had Romney won.

Face it, the reason Romney lost is he was listening to the wrong FOLK. Had he really slowed down and reflect maybe and I mean maybe he could have noticed that he was offending the voters who might had voted for him.
